Best bakery in the NE. Was served by a girl named Izzy, she was incredibly sweet and helpful!
Bakery opens 7:00 am on Sunday. 7:05 I ask for 3 cheese danish, young lady says only two left. I said it’s only 7:05 , you just opened. How are you sold out already ? They said they were sold out by orders. I stated that they should make more for other people coming in. Poor management. No reason to be sold out this soon. Save your money. Poor selection. Rather buy a tasty cake
One year ago today, I had a 60th Birthday party for my husband on his birthdate . I ordered a full-sheet pound cake from Holmesburg Bakery . Unfortunately, I ended up in the hospital for 6 days and missed the party . My husband had to pick up his own cake and a few other items . I ordered it to be decorated in orange, his fav. color ; he looked in the window of the box and thought it was decorated in orange - when he got to the venue it turned out to be decorated in yellow (see my FB page for the pictures / July 13, 2024) ! After my release from the hospital we went to the Bakery and spoke with Bud, the owner, who stated : "well, he signed for it !" I explained that my husband was under alot of stress with me being in the hospital & having to orchestrate his own party - it should have been decorated as ordered in orange and not yellow . I stated that I could have gotten the cake from a supermarket for 1/2 the price, but I prefer to support local, family businesses . Bud then apologized & gave us a $15.00 gift card as compensation . I am still upset about this one year later . Everything about the party was orange, including the Reese's t-shirt he wore . It was a perfect party ...... except for the cake .
The best cream donuts ever....
Awesome 👌
We bought a full sheet cake half chocolate half white from here for daughters baby shower. Have bought from here before so figured it would good.
What a disappointment it was dry tasteless it crumbled apart.
Even several guests commented how bad it was. I called asked if they were new owners was told no. To be honest I don't think they cared we were not happy. I asked to speak to owner or manager was told they would get back to me.
It's sad that Giant, Acme, BJs, ShopRite have better cakes than a local old time shope
Excellent bakery
This is kind of a mixed review. I placed an order from Holmesburg bakery using Uber Eats for the first time. I ordered 2 cream donuts, and a blueberry muffin. The donuts were amazing. Cream was light and fluffy, donuts were fresh and airy. However, the Muffin... The muffin was hard, cold, sticky, and had a pasty consistency. The taste was rancid. I only took one bite, and had to spit it out. There was a distinct freezer burn flavor, and an under taste of something fishy... Im not exaggerating. my dog sniffed the muffin, and backed away from it. Even a dog found it unappealing. I don't know if it was a mistake, a broken refrigerator, or a muffin that was left in the freezer months past it's date... but it was foul, and I will never make that mistake again. I'll just stick to donuts from here from now on. Those are amazingly delicious.
Holmesburgh always comes through for very large orders for us at NEHS. I can't say enough positive things about them. The students and staff love when it's Donut Day!
The cream donut at this location is not just one of…but THEE absolute best donut I have had in my entire life since birth. Cannot stress this enough. We drive well over an hour consistently to get a dozen. Nice people working too but seriously…if I could have only one dessert for the rest of my life it would be this. Eating it for the first time changed me and no where else even comes close to the taste of this cream donut. I beg you to try for yourselves. If you are within 5 hours of this bakery it is worth the trip.

The problem is the manager!! My bday cake was old and fell apart, we had to throw it out. I called and the manager yelled at ME and then he hung up on me!!!! I guess they don't want or need costumers, I'm definitely not one an never will be. I feel sorry for the employees who have to work with that guy!! Sorry girls maybe you'll find a new job soon.all your getting from me is a 1 STAR.

This was the first time visiting , this bakery is incredible. 20.00 dollars for a dozen delicious donuts is an amazing value. The service was prompt and friendly!
To all of the negative feedback, stick with Dunkin' crap, and leave this establishment for the rest of the grateful customers…

I have been a loyal customer to this bakery for about the last year or so, and I would look forward every week (sometimes multiple times) to go to Holmesburg Bakery and get a vanilla cream donut. I quite literally developed an addiction to the vanilla cream donuts and would argue that they were the best around. That being said, ever since around thanksgiving, for some reason the vanilla cream donuts have not been the same. The dough of the donut has had an unpleasant aftertaste that has unfortunately ruined the experience that I looked forward to every week. I really don’t know what happened, and I say this in the most genuine way possible, because I really miss buying the vanilla cream donuts! There is no place that even comes close to how good their donuts used to be. I really hope that whatever was causing this change in taste gets addressed because I really miss buying my favorite pastry every week, but it’s not worth spending the money if they don’t taste right. Again, I do not mean any of this in an insulting way, but I’m being honest because I was a huge fan of the donuts and would like to be able to enjoy them in the future again.
