This cocktail bar is undeniably a labor of love. The atmosphere is intimate and tranquil. The quality of the drinks, both in craft and spirit, is otherworldly. I would give more then 5 stars if I could. For all the complainers.. just follow the dang rules and show some respect.

Would give this place a zero if I could. We last minute decided to join our friends who were already inside. We told the owner at the gate that our friends were actually inside and it would be nice if we could sit with them. He called us liars and said that they didn't say they had any friends when they first came in. I tried to explain to him that our plans changed and if there's no space for a party of four we would just do a table for two. He then went inside and found out that our friends were in there but he still proceeded to call us liars and said he couldn't let us in. All this while vaping is blueberry smoke in our faces. Quite frankly, I don't care how great your drinks are or how nice the vibes are I don't care to be disrespected that way. Really sad that this man thinks he is representative of Philly when this is the worst experience I've ever had in Philly.

While this grave disservice has came to my attention, it is glaringly apparent that some people can’t handle the bare minimum of following directions. And, some people believe they deserve special treatment or have zero clue as to the appropriate price points for cocktails. Well, if you’re not an ignorant, petulant child in a grown adult-skin then I have some advice for you about at the world’s best North Korean cocktail bar!Follow the code and their ways! We had an excellent experience and appreciation of the establishment’s code and rules while being treated with the utmost respect. The staff and their service were top-notch! The server was knowledgeable, professional and attentive. The doorman was pleasant and checked in on guests BY NAME! Drinks were solid, and I can’t wait to return with more comrades!This establishment is #BeerJesusApprovedP.S. - Enjoy the experience people, stop being so uptight you inferior imperialists!

As long as you follow two simple rules that are covered before you enter the establishment, you will have a wonderful time. The place is sophisticated and dim light, creating an intimate environment. The drinks go from simple to creative, and are executed perfectly. I had a whiskey and honeydew cocktail and my partner had a very spicy gin cocktail that had you wishing for more.We can’t wait to come back on either a casual night out, or to celebrate a special occasion. Really nice and comfortable place that has the feel of a 20's speakeasy. They have a good selection of drinks and the host is very funny and friendly. I will definitely have to come back again. Several things to note, though:1. You're not allowed to take photos.2. You're not allowed to talk on the phone in the bar area.3. This is a cash only establishment.

Second time could not have been more different - the owner seemed stressed to have a crowd of people out front and in turn decided to call me "stupid" multiple times for ringing the doorbell. Obviously we left. Incredibly unprofessional and honestly disturbing that anyone would act like that. I've had so many great cocktails in so many beautiful places in the city, it's not worth the money to be disrespected like this.
Certainly one of the more unique establishments in the city, this dedicated cocktail bar is simply unmatched in terms of quality. Our party of 4 had no issue with the rules which are actually very fair for a private establishment that wants to maintain a certain atmosphere and an environment that emphasizes respect for other people. Service is highly professional and the cocktails are outstanding. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return soon. Good tips are encouraged!Also last but not least the owner is a legend and will not tolerate buffoons, imbeciles, or other cretins leaving bad reviews because they could not follow simple rules. I check back once in a while between visits just to read the unyielding and hilarious review replies.Never stop being yourself sir.
