Wonderful Sushi - - - - - - - - October, 2023 Visit Our family visited Philadelphia for a family wedding. We had a good time. After seeing the 2nd National Bank, the Liberty Bell, and Independence Hall, it was time for lunch. Our daughter proposed sushi and we quickly found Ikki, which is located in a building that is narrow width but with much depth, and with an upstairs eating balcony. It’s located a couple minute walk from Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and the Museum of American Jewish History. Our server was helpful in identifying which items were and were not gluten free, and she also provided GF soy sauce. We ordered and enjoyed seven rolls: 1. Boston - shrimp, lettuce, cucumber 2. Tuna Avocado 3. Futo maki 4. Alaska - salmon, avocado 5. Avocado mango 6. Mango Tango - Tuna, salmon, and avocado topped with mango, red tobiko, and mango sauce 7. Out of control - tuna, salmon asparagus with sauces 8. With Miso soup & salad They all tasted great and filled us just right. Thank you, Ikki sushi! ----- ----- -----

Fried rice and steak teriyaki was excellent! Had a delivery which went perfect! We were only in Philly a couple of days and stayed in old town and I highly recommend.

ATTN: owner- Your window has an old menu. When I placed a takeout order, soup AND salad became soup OR salad- A small bowl of chopped iceberg lettuce is NOT a salad. It's just just cheap.- You're a japanese restaurant. The tiny ball of wasabi I rcvd with $31 worth of sashimi damn well ought to be fresh. It wasn't.Your employees are very professional and courteous but the poor attention to detail and quality reflect subpar management.

Probably some of the worst sushi I have ever had in my life. Service was very rude and unfriendly. I was the only customer at the bar seating and they were in a rush to get me out. Will never be back.

Enjoyed having lunch with my daughter and grandson. The portions for salmon were small so my grandson had to order a second entree. While the food was good, it could have been better. Not sure if I will be returning. Service was very good.

I enjoyed the food at the restaurant, especially since they offer both vegan and non-vegan options. They have a good variety for everyone's preferences. The only negative side was that there was one waitress, we were a group of 10 people and she was extremely busy.

I was staying at a hotel around the corner and wanted some sushi. After a quick search on yelp I found this place, it was close and had good ratings so I placed a pickup order. The restaurant was quite fast and I got my order super quickly. The employees were nice and friendly. Sadly, the sushi wasn't good, especially the tuna and salmon rolls... in my experience most grocery store sushi has it beat. The specialty roll that I got was at least a bit enjoyable. I also got the ginger sauce to try and it added a fun flavor. Not gonna lie the fish was pretty suspicious and did NOT sit well in my stomach. I have been ill for the past two days, may or may not have gotten food poisoning.

We came here with a party of 4. There’s only 2 tables and a sushi bar. Tables were seated and the bar had very uncomfortable seats so we had to leave. Unfortunately, we did not try their food.

I had the chef choice sashimi plate (takeout) and the fish was fresh, delicate, and beautifully presented. The selection included toro and amberjack. The seaweed salad was one of the best I've ever had (and included more than one type of seaweed!). The portions are small (though the portion size was just fine for me) and it's pricey but for me the care and the freshness were worth it. (I can see that it might be frustrating that you can't really see a menu before entering but it's worth going over there to order in person.)
Wouldn't recommend the lunch bento from here. Portion size was devastatingly small, felt more like a kiddie meal. Just 4 pieces of sushi, 3 shumai; they did not fill the rice compartment... Definitely not worth the $16 + tax and 15 minute wait. You might be better off with the poké place across the street or any of the other surrounding restaurants for takeout lunch. I won't be back.
