Some of the best Jamaican food I’ve had in Philly! I agree with the other reviews that the service is nothing to write home about but the flavor is definitely way above average! I always get take-out from J*** Hut when I’m in the area. Highly recommend for good flavorful Jamaican food!

Great food yet not flexible on whether you can have all cabbage - the woman who is at the front - not a nice lady by any stretch - says she’ll doIt this one time yet will not do it again - what difference does it make? We will not be back simply due to the rudeness and service. Good food though! And you can’t use the restroom!FYI - I did not ask for extra chicken. I just asked for great pieces of chicken

Loved the j*** chicken, fried plantains, and Jamaican cabbage that comprised my lunch special! Portion size was generous and the food was prepared to perfection. Can't wait to try the next platter!

It's weird, no body's at the front counter or answers the counter when a customer comes in. Between the extreme lack of caring that there's someone either picking up or trying to order food but simply put they don't care at all about anything nor does it look like they even want to be there.

Some of the best Jamaican Food Ive had in a long time. I originally wanted to go because one of my favorite movies (In Her Shoes) had some scenese shot there. Im so glad I did though! Its now one of my favorites in the city. You will not be disappointed if your into authentic Jamaican Food

The customer service was very terrible. They barley had anything that was on the menu and the prices were sky high. Im just learning the lady actually over charged me. I paid $22 for a small oxtail platter which was suppose to be $18. The platter was very small, I had like 3-4 small pieces. This is the worse Jamaican spot I've ever been to. Will not be going back.

Had a taste for Jamaican food so I was in Philly and decided to stop by. So I finally found the place, hopped out the car and went inside to order. First off the have Noo prices next to the food so I asked the lady to show me the difference between the small and the large she had an nasty attitude so after she showed me the size container I then proceeded to order my food after I finish ordering and ready to pay she gave me my totally I couldn’t believe how much my total came up to for 2 small meals so I’m about to pay in cash she said no cash only debit cards so I said ok I’ll be right back let me go in the car get my purse so I can get my debit card went back into the restaurant she went in the back I’m thinking she’s preparing my food so I waited a while decided that she was taking to long so I decided to ring the bell they have in front to notify them that I was back in the store she then send another lady back out to me saying that their close so I’m explaining like I was just here and place an order I only had to go back and get my debit card she insist on telling me that their still close I just thought it was bad for business and just knowingly knew I was standing there and just had me waiting disrespectful I would never be going back there or even tell anybody about this place it’s a wrap for me

The board on the the wall with the menu had the prices peeled off. When we ask what the sizes and prices were the lady showed us the container size but didn't tell us the prices. On the board it looked like the prices that were removed were $10 for a small and $15 for a large, couldn't tell for sure. No other menus there to look at.We ordered 2 small orders of ox tail and 2 pineapple sodas. Our bill was almost $50. ?$18 per small order of oxtail and $10 for 2 sodas. ARE YOU KIDDING ME THAT'S RIDICULOUS!!!What soda costs $5?? ?There were probably 3 or 4 fatty very boney ox tails, about 3 tablespoons of cabbage, 2 pieces of plantain and the rest was rice with beans. The flavor was good but portion vs the price was horrible! The service was rude and they were out of so much stuff. I feel like we were over charged intentionally. Had I read the reviews prior to ordering here, I would have passed on trying it. We will never purchase food from this restaurant again!!Check out the pictures of receipt and food.Tell me what you think... did we get ripped off?

Paid $40 for nasty food that is not even enough for two people. I heard her turn on the microwave, to reheat my bland food, then had the THE AUDACITY to not allow me to dine-in. Half of the menu options were not available: will never come back money wasted.

Food looked good. Shrimp too spicy to enjoy and the other food no flavor, saved some for the next day and it was spoiled. Strong scent from j*** sauce… wasted.. $52 worth of food ?

I was craving Jamaican food and hadn't had any in a while so popped in as I passed by. Many of the items I wanted from the menu were not available so finally I had to ask what they did have. The Curry Goat I finally ordered was nicely flavored but it might be a long time before I return again.

Ive been coming for years until covid hit...food was delicious up to that point. Long waits and unfriendly looks were fine because the food was excellent.. Now i just returned and theres no flavor in the food...dry...bland....just hot....which is very odd....can we get the old cook back?
