I just had a lovely 60th birthday celebration at Jansen, my favourite neighbourhood restaurant. The food was delicious, the cocktails superb, the staff attentive and friendly. The 5 course prix-fix to mark Jansen’s last month at this beautiful Mt. Airy Location reprised many of its hits over the years. I have so many wonderful memories of dinners with family and friends here over the years and I am so sad to lose this exceptional fine dining restaurant in NorthWest Philly. Get in there while you can to have a fantastic farewell meal!

Could not have been a more delightful meal! 3 kinds of oysters, lobster blt, black bass, filet mignon, craft cocktails, decadent desserts. Our server never missed a beat while we took our time savoring every course. 3.5 hours start to finish. Fantastic experience 😘👌

We, four patrons, made a reservation FOUR WEEKS IN ADVANCE, visited the restaurant last night. It’s a nicely renovated very old, large house. The service was great, the food, and drinks were very good (octopus was excellent). The menu is short, and the cost with one drink each , and only one dessert was $450.00, high, especially for the suburbs, but expected when I read previous reviews. My only “gripe” is their cancellation policy. One of our friends did not feel well approximately four hours before our reservation time. I called the restaurant to tell them we would only be two diners, and was informed that we were responsible for a $50.00 @ person cancellation fee for the two “no shows” without FORTY EIGHT HOURS ADVANCE NOTICE. I will never go back, and cannot recommend a restaurant with such an unfair cancellation policy. Arnold Leibovitz

The food is high quality and drinks are wonderful. Your body will thank you for it. Indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of street parking on busy germantown avenue.
