Good sandwich but could have been seasoned better

It’s authentic Philly cheese steak which I’m typically not crazy about; Chopped beef, must order all toppings. But, this one was nicely seasoned and surprisingly good. So, if you have to do a Philly cheesesteak while in Philly, I’d recommend this one. Also, make sure you go upstairs and check out the mosaic! It’s as good as if not better than the food.

Was recommended this spot by a local relative. Thankfully I stopped here because it was incredible! Ordered with wiz and onions.
After I got the sandwich and sat down to eat I thought there was no way I could finish it. When I took the first bite I noticed how soft and fresh the bread was. Before I knew it, I had inhaled the entire cheesesteak!
Not just the best cheesecake I've ever had, Jim's South St. has probably the best sandwich I've ever eaten! Kudos for the quality and consistency. Loved the upstairs area as well, the mosaics are really cool.
Side note: When I was flying out of Philly, I saw that Jim's has a restaurant in the airport as well. I couldn't help myself and tried one more. While not as good as the original obviously, it was still an amazing sandwich.

This is our favorite place for steak sandwiches in Philly. The meat is tender and chopped nicely. The cooks are friendly and the place is great with alot of seating. We go to Jim's every time we are in Philly!

Cash only! Not cheap but cheese steak sandwich was excellent. We had it with grilled onions and jalapeno peppers and provolone we had one sandwich and a bottle of Diet Coke and it was almost $18. It’s a Philly thing to get the cheese steak so it was a success.

It was amazing to be in and out in 5 mins. I guess timing was everything! Hands down and amazing Philly Cheesesteak!!! I will most definitely be making it there again before I leave the city!!!! I wished I would have taken a pic before I devoured it!

Fast paced steak hoagie. Be ready to give all toppings upfront. They don't have time to explain how it works. Price is decent. Food is just ok. Lots of meat, dry. Definitely not the best in town.

I haven't tried every cheese steak place in Philly, and why would I? Because you don't mess with perfection. Jim's is great--fast, efficient service; fantastic cheese steaks; reasonable prices; clean premises (including the restroom); and friendly, helpful staff. We've eaten here multiple times, and we keep coming back. The guys who put the sandwiches together at the grill, especially, are true artists.

Since the fire, it doesn't seem like the grill has the flavor cooked in yet and the steak seems plain. I do like the addition of the peppers available for the steaks

Was the first stop of 3 while in Philly and this is rate as #3. The bread is good. The meat was super chopped up and not layered. Was a bit dry - you need more than onions to make it moist. It’s the same as a NYC chopped cheese.

I love that Jim’s had veggie options. My boyfriend loved their classic cheesesteak and their mushroom one was such a surprise and delicious too!

Terrible experience! We came all the way from Texas to try this place and we were accused of stealing a damn sandwich! Stupid lady got confused and told the cashier my brother had his in his hand, we didn’t realize they only took cash (which is dumb especially now and days) so when he went to go get cash they “assumed” he took the damn sandwich out the restaurant! Most embarrassing experience getting accused of stealing especially in front of a whole crowd of ppl!!! Like why would we steal, I have enough money to buy the whole damn business if I wanted to!!! I was sooo livid, we were so close to just walking out but we were starving so we just ate there! I even pointed at the dude who made it and was like didn’t you just make us two and he agreed and we still got accused! Had the audacity to be like “oh hunny it’s no big deal” clearly it was if yall made a scene!! And to top it off, place is over rated! Oh brothers steak is wayyyy better!
