This was the worst sushi I’ve ever had. Don’t believe the 5 star reviews. I question if they’re fake or if they just don’t know what is real sushi. Don’t fall for it. I’ve had some poor sushi but this was the lowest quality I’ve ever seen. The rolls were so sloppy. They stick together and fall apart. The fish is NOT fresh. The rice is hard and cold. Sushi rice should be room temperature and soft. It’s sticky, which is why the rolls were sticking together. The seaweed/nori is bad quality and hard to chew. I am shocked. The prices are not worth the low grade sushi and lack of skill for making rolls. My guess is they have an amateur sushi chef who’s just learning because that’s how bad the rolls were made. This is the first and last time I will order from here. Wasted $80 on this. So much for taking a risk and trying somewhere new. It’s almost impossible to find a good sushi place around here. You have to drive out to the city or farther away where they charge more.

Have been a customer for over a year. Every time has been a very special sushi experience. When I walk in almost every time John is there working to turn out really great food. Ordered their chicken wings on a whim and they were really good. That proved to me that John cares about his food.

We stopped there while in the area and were very pleasantly surprised!!! The food was simple but very tasty and “clean” with little added oils. We had Hibatchi. The service was attentive. There is a big parking lot in the back. We will definitely be back for sushi!!!

John’s is a good neighborhood place. Staff are nice. Food is fresh. They like eleven people come back and know the regulars. They welcome new people and want you to return.

Second time coming here, the food was brought out fast and tasted ok The price was slightly high but worth it. However, with the money we paid i expected to be at least respected. Our waitress was kind of “annoyed” by us, even though we were being really polite. She took our order curtly and acted like she was so busy got to leave fast. Forgot to bring us plate and cup for sauce, when we asked she just threw the stuff on the table and then left right away. I like the food but with this service, we still tipped, but probably won’t come back.

very good n fresh sushi. adorable atmosphere. could use a bit more air in summer but i get how expensive it could be to keep cooler...definitly was a lil too warm one hot day in august i went. yet, food so good- i forgot once i was eating and drinking a tall glass of water.( which even their water seemed better than most)
Vegetarian options: im not sure but i have chrohns disease and plenty of things i can eat or ask them to leave out in their meals. if anything- other than tempura ( which is amazing their) most japanese dishes are extremely healthy for almost everyone!
Parking: parking lot behind restuant as well as back door
Kid-friendliness: kids can go and not feel pressured to not act like a kid! im sure they would enjoy this resturant !
