I ordered eggplant parm. I don't know what was in there but it wasn't eggplant. Also ordered chicken pasting soup. All broth, they forgot to put chicken and pasting in there. Used to be great but they raised there prices and removed the food

What a great meal at a friendly neighborhood restaurant! In South Philly for work and I was looking for a spot to have lunch. Johnnies is a corner home converted into an Italian restaurant. Parking can be a bit tough so bring your patience with you. We were greeted by the hostess and seated right away. There are only a handful of tables so timing will be important. The menu is fairly typical for an Italian restaurant. I tried the stuffed shells with sausage and it was fabulous! The pricing is very reasonable for the quality of the food. I would eat here again, in fact if I lived in the neighborhood I would eat here once a week! They don't serve cocktails but you can BYOB.

This is a great neighborhood Italian restaurant. Food is really good. Old-fashioned Italian cooking. I ordered the muscles in the spicy red sauce, but was disappointed because it was watery. With the entrées, I had ordered the stuffed shells with mild Italian sausage on the side was very pleased with the Sauce and the flavors. For two people including Chip, you can have a decent meal and spend $60-$70.

Found this neighborhood Italian restaurant after watching the Phillies game.

Very small place; no bells and whistles, which is cool with me as I'm about the food at the end of the day.

My girlfriend went with the Lobster Ravioli, which was my second choice, as I chose the Veal Parmesan. My friend had a cheese steak.

I sampled the Ravioli which was incredible. My friend liked his cheese steak. Ahhh the Veal Parm; my expectations were high and unfortunately I was a bit let down.

The Veal was sliced thin and cooked right, but something was a bit off about the sauce...I requested a side of sauteed garlic which I always add to my Veal to enhance the flavor even more, but it wasn't working.

I then requested some Oregano and the sauce/gravy still wasn't clicking like I hoped.

I think there was too much sauce on the plate and perhaps maybe it may have needed some basil.

Honestly, I'm not normally the kind of reviewer that you end up rolling your eyes while reading, and this is honest constructive feedback.

I don't eat Veal Parm that often, but when I do, I set the bar high.

The service was excellent and I loved talking to the ladies who were up front...I know this is a family run establishment and again my experience was great, plus I took my girlfriends Ravioli and my Parm back to eat the leftovers and will eat them all, lol

Parking: South Philly; need I say more

I love their chicken soup but it’s literally a joke every time i order i get half a quart of juice and barely any soup. I even asked for less juice and paid for extra soup to be added to the quart. $10 for mainly chicken broth is insane.

Staff is so unprofessional. My friend who is pregnant wanted nothing more than their pasta, it was so hot the plastic ended up melting in her food. When calling them asking for it to be remade/ refund, they told her no. Don’t waste your money. -1/10 recommend.

I worked at Bruno's with a waitress that worked there a long time ago and ever since she turned me on to them, I've been ordering from there ever since. The only place that have mussels and steamed clams, that are the best in the city... make sure it's 12th and Wolf. There are others, but nothing like this place.
