Tried the roast pork, roast beef, steak & cheese, and chicken sandwiches. Roast pork was delicious, but the roast beef was the best I’ve ever had. Steak and cheese beats Geno’s and Pat’s hands down - I don’t like liquid cheese on my steak and cheese! Could take or leave the spinach but amazing sandwiches with high quality ingredients - bigger sandwiches at a better price. We got sliced roast beef to go and make our own sandwiches.
Parking: We went at a busy time so parking is hit or miss.

Super disappointed experience overall, definitely doesn’t live up to the hype with the terrible service - won’t be back.

This place left so much to be desired. Granted, I had high expectations given the stellar reviews from multiple sources. The roast pork sandwich just didn’t do it for me. No line when I arrived, and there was a short wait for my sandwich. Sat outside in their covered area on a windy day. Lots of people came and went while I sat and mindfully ate my sandwich. Service was quick. The man who handed me my sandwich was very kind. The space is just a walk up window with outdoor seating. The roast pork sandwich without cheese was too dry and the flavor didn’t sit well on my tastebuds. People love John’s for a reason. It’s just not my flavor preference.

Don’t be fooled by the unassuming outdoor seating—John’s Roast Pork is all about top-tier food. Ask any Philadelphia local, and chances are they’ll tell you this spot serves the best roast pork sandwiches in the city. The quality is outstanding, and the portions are just as impressive. If you want to eat like a true local, this is the place to go! Plenty of parking in the area with fast service.

Pork and cheese steak was delicious!! Also, much appreciated the fact that we were over 2 hours from home and you put the gravy on the side so the pork wouldn't get soggy! Thanks again!

Ordered 2 fish cake sandwiches for Lent on a Friday. Wasn't even busy and the fish cake sandwiches were ice cold.

So, I'll get the bad outta the first. The cheesesteak. It was very sub-par. Flavorless with hard bread. It was quite the let down.
But the roast pork sandwich with garlic spinach and provolone, that was delicious. Tons of flavor, juicy, sloppy deliciousness.
