I ordered some tamales for Christmas and they were absolutely incredible. I don't make it down to South Philly much since I live and work in two other parts of the city, but I think I'm going to have to start coming up with excuses to make it down this way more often.
I’m a vegetarian, so I was excited to try the vegan birria tacos, but was a little disappointed when I realized they were just filled with chickpeas and black beans. I was hoping maybe it would be served with vegan “beef” or seitan to give the tacos a meatier texture. Flavors were delicious nonetheless. It just felt like the $18 price point for bean tacos was a bit overpriced.
