If you can abide the smell of hookah smoke, then feel free to step into this restaurant on the edge of town. My visit here with a group of friends took place in the lull period between lunch and dinner and so we were the only patrons in the shop. Of course, this meant that we didn't have any issues with the service, and indeed, the waiter was helpful and patient as we figured out our order. Although I had read that the Bulanee Kadu (vegetable pastries) were a star item on the menu, none of us were actually that impressed, potentially because we've all had superior samosas elsewhere. The lamb and chicken kababs were excellent, as was the heaping pile of sweet rice they come with.

I would give this spot 4/5 for the food, but I will never return due to the behavior of our server. One of the patrons was flirting with him and then was taking his picture without him knowing/asking. We told the waiter because it seemed creepy, he wasn't bothered and actually seemed flattered. Somehow that segued into him telling us that he doesn't believe Blasey Ford. How did that happen, I really don't know. "How can she really remember what happened? How can anyone really know? It was so long ago. Why does it even matter after all of this time?" are a few choice snippets from his soliloquy. Totally out of line, totally gross, and he was spewing this across the restaurant at us. I was speechless, I had no clue what to do or say. Luckily, we were done with the meal and left, I will never return. We are here on Sunday, 10/7/18, at approx 7pm.

Hospitality here is AMAZING ! I absolutely loved each time I have visited, how welcoming the owner and waiters have been. The quality of food here is nothing short than amazing. I've tried dishes that have chicken and lamb. So dad, their meat has been cooked well and their seasoning was definitely complimentary to the taste. I haven't experienced anything extra spicy, which is a plus on my book. Their bread is really good, freshly baked and makes you feel like you are in their homeland. I've tried their spinach soup from my friend's plate and it was honestly perfect to dip with their bread. Their decor is so nice, my phone died and I wasn't able to capture as many pics, but I will save that for a future trip. They have traditional clothing, art pieces and pottery that just adds to the essence of the place. There is also a seating at the end of the restaurant where you can sit on the floor with cushioning and enjoy a humble meal. I don't think there was anything about this place that disappoints, so the deserve the 5/5 stars.

I doubt why they have 176 reviews with 4 star the worst food is ever had in Afghani restaurant, if you have a high blood pressure please avoid this restaurant (salty) and if you are planning for dinner please order your food at lunch time. (Very late service) the only order we liked is yogurt drink... but staffs are nice people.

Food is good, but the customer service is horrible. Only one person serving, LOONG wait and the waiter was extremely rude to my family. Wouldn't come here again.

For the first time my wife and I could not complete our meal, the food was very salty ( race and meat) for our two different dishes. I was wondering how did this place got 4 stars?!?

Very loooong wait and we were one of only three tables. People that came in after us were served before us . One hour by the clock ut took from the moment he took the order until it came.

Phenomenally delicious food. Quiet peaceful setting and great staff. Be sure to get the sweet saffron rice with your meal, it really makes the difference. As for meal choice, you really cant go wrong with anything. Spicy for them means really spicy so be careful.

Low quality in terms of authentic afghani cuisine especially for the price. Meat to rice ratio is abysmal. For reference: Home cooked afghan food: 5 star Persian Grill, Lafayette Hill: 4 star

Amazing food and service! I ordered the Narange palaw with chicken and although it took a little longer than expected it was worth the wait. Salad also comes with an entree which was a pleasant surprise. My server Ayesha was also a sweet young girl who made the experience pleasant with a great conversation. Will definitely come again.

Excellent service but food is not the best Aghani cuisine I've tasted so far. Can work better with spices and loading their rice with more richness. Seemed half-cooked in some kabobs. Aghan iced tea is worth trying though!

Hidden gem! The food is great. Plenty of lamb on the menu. The place is clean and great atmosphere. Friendly server. Bathroom is downstair and small.

Kabul is one of Philly's hidden gems. I was introduced to this place a few years ago and keep coming back. I typically go with either the Kabuli Palaw, a sweet style, basmati rice with pistachio and raisins, of the lamb kabobs. Both excellent choices. I recommend getting extra white sauce.

Great environment. Located close to plenty of 'after dinner' plans. Staff and food were both excellent.
