About PUNGNYEON KATSU 풍년 돈까스

풍년 돈까스 is a cute little restaurant specializing in katsu. The inside is reminiscent of an 90s style Korean restaurant, with art cute on the walls and menu signs charming. The owner is kind and the family running the restaurant was very sweet. Food is always fresh and portions generous. The entree comes with a corn soup and a side of pickles, a nice addition that balances oil. The service was very good and food came with the perfect timing to finish the soup and get comfortable.

Menu highlights include chicken katsu, pork katsu, cheese katsu, pork dumplings, chicken dumplings, soba noodle with shrimp tempura. The cheese katsu comes with 6 pieces, rice, coleslaw, sauce, and sweet corn soup. Both katsu were cooked perfect, golden, crispy and impossibly tender. Pork was soft and tender, not greasy. The corn cream soup was tasty. Pickles, pickled daikon, onion and coleslaw shine with fresh vibrant flavor. The katsu sauce did not have the taste of cinnamon, a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere feels like stepping into a Studio Ghibli film—warm, magical, unforgettable. A place to be wowed.
