Average bar with average food. We went on a Friday night and it wasn’t crowded. A friend paid to play a song on the TouchTunes machine and the bar turned it off within 15 seconds. Weird behavior. Don’t have the machine if you don’t want patrons to play songs.
We used to love this place and would come here all the time. They recently had a huge menu change, and all the dishes we like are gone. It used to be mostly bar food, but upscale versions with some interesting takes. Now, the food is very different. For example, they got rid of their fried mozzarella, but now they have things like Chicken Liver Mousse and $24 Duck Leg Confit? I ordered cheesecake, and got one slice for $10, which I think is not a reasonable price.
This is not the neighborhood favorite anymore, instead a completely new restaurant. I wouldn't say it's bad, but it is not the same restaurant. I wish it had been renamed, and branded as a new restaurant instead, because it is not the Kite and Key that built its name in this neighborhood.

My first visit. Metered street parking.
Friendly, attentive staff.
Chicken and Vegetable soup was a nice treat on this chilly afternoon.
Draft and craft beer.
Happy hour specials, tables and bar seating.
Short walk to the Art Museum and Philadelphia Public Library.

Tried to go before the super bowl parade started. Tried to charge 10 dollars per person just to get in. Big LoL there. Asked if one of us could use the bathroom or even give a couple bucks to use it and we're told go use the porta potty outside. Lmao. After the parade went to hilltown tavern in Fairmount. No cover, great prices and food and spent well over 100 dollars. Oh and get this....we used the INSIDE bathroom too! I understand bars can do whatever they want, but good luck with that. LOL
This place was terrible, my food was like not edible. The fosh and chips were soggy and disgusting and one of my chicken wings were raw. Waiter was sooooo rude, he was hostile towards us and did not even say hi?? And him and the girl bartender were actually talking badly about customers LOUD ENOUGH so that i can hear across the room??? How do you keep business like this? We are never going back what a waste of money.

We had a great staff party at Kite and Key! It was easy to work with the team there, figuring out logistics and picking out food. The food was more than plentiful, and everything was delicious. It was a little loud, but the space was great for our group. Our staff had a great time and I will definitely be returning.

Traditional pub with a small menu. If it's busy, don't expect to get a drink ordered unless you're a cute young female.

Edit: They really did fix it! Thanks! Hope you can add more bar food again. We’ll be coming back!
I used to frequent Kite and Key. Things have changed in the past 2 months. Our menu favorites are gone. I know they changed chefs, hence the menu change. Service is still awesome but the food isn’t as good as it used to be. This is the Fish and Chips I got for $20. We miss the old Kite and Key.

We had an amazing time. The owner Jim was very accommodating and our server Chris was amazing! Not to mention to food was great as well. I highly recommend!!
Got to the last third of my beer and noticed a lemon seed stuck to the bottom of the glass. Completely disgusted. Brought it to the bartender’s attention and she just shrugged. Didn’t even take off a dollar or two for my unfinished beer because of the dirty glass.

Steak and eggs were great, potatoes not. Bloody Mary was outstanding. Kind of cold, turn up the heat please.
