If you’re in Philadelphia and looking for an authentic, flavorful, and heartfelt food experience, you have to visit La Chingonita in Fishtown. The food is absolutely delicious—a perfect fusion of Puerto Rican and Mexican flavors that creates a unique and unforgettable taste.

But what really makes this place stand out goes beyond the food. The owners treat their employees with so much respect and kindness, something that’s truly rare to see. You can feel the positive energy and the family-like atmosphere, and that reflects directly in the service.

The restaurant is also spotless in terms of cleanliness—everything is well taken care of from the kitchen to the dining area.

I highly recommend that everyone go check it out, enjoy this amazing “MexiRican” culinary experience, and support one of the best food ventures in the city. La Chingonita doesn’t just feed your stomach—it feeds your soul.

Small shop, no thrills, eat in quick, takeout. Nice people, quality ingredients. Better than most.

Great traditional Mexican food here. The tostadas and tacos are my favorite, though the enchiladas suizas are great too. Several protein options including an oyster mushroom based vegetarian (or possibly vegan) option.

Great spot to eat a quick bite. Loved the tacos; they were simple and really tasty. Price was super reasonable for the area. Staff were friendly and it had a relaxed vibe.

Taking off a star for atmosphere because it seems like a miss to have the seating arranged against the wall, but not even utilize the window. Makes for an awkward eating vibe. A standing table against the window and a small table outside would absolutely draw in more traffic and be a much more intuitive aesthetic.

In a weekend where everything didn’t seem to go right this was a highlight that stood out. Being in town from NY I wanted an authentic tasting Mexican spot with options and La Chingonita didn’t disappoint. Quick service and my friends and I liked everything we ordered. The tacos, burritos I dug specifically. Bookmarked for when I’m in town again.

Must get: the churro! It’s $2, huge, and full of flavor.

Burrito and nachos were solid.
