Thank heavens for Colonial Beach Local Foodie’s referral. Meet a gentleman at Thousand Trails resort just outside of Colonial Beach Va. that had a thick Upstate NY accent. We preceded to reminisce about family in Upstate NY,, of course food rolled into the conversation,. That’s how I came across Nonna Lena’s Italian Cuisine. Fettuccine bolognese was amazing. Perfectly al dente pasta. The ragù is so good that it will make you re-think some of your life choices. One of the most authentic Italian meals I have had in a long time. The complimentary pickled vegetables for the table were a throwback to how my Italian great grandmother served them. This BYOB deserves your attention, soon and often. Tell everyone!
The food here is absolutely amazing and the staff is so friendly. We come here probably 2 times a month on date night and have yet to have anything but a world class meal. The gnocchi here is maybe the best I’ve had inside or outside of the USA and eggplant parm is spectacular! It’s BYOB as well which makes significantly less expensive compared to other Italian restaurants. Highly recommend everyone put this on your list if you are visiting Philadelphia!
