This is my ALL-TIME favorite Italian restaurant because the food is always fantastic and John is the BEST when it comes to customer service and satisfaction. L’angolo holds a special place in my heart!

Jammed 3 of us in a table made for 2. We're constantly in the way of the waiters.

We wanted an authentic Italian dinner and this place did not disappoint. The pan fried mozzarella appetizer was on point and very fresh. My wife got the gnocchi with shrimp which she claims is the best she ever had, and she is a gnocchi aficionado. I got the sautéed chicken with pancetta and onions in a white wine sauce which was excellent. Great experience we’d definitely go again!

There were 6 of us having dinner…Perfect evening of appetizers, salads, and entrees…this was mine…one of their specials with lobster & shrimp with homemade pasta..in a spicy marinara!! Wow! ?

Parking: We were visiting family about 10min from the restaurant by car. We took a uber as there is really no parking…on top of that is a funeral home across the street so it gets a bit congested. ALL WORTH IT!!

I was charged a higher tip with respect to the one I wrote on the check. Had to request to my bank the cancellation of the payment

Had a reservation problem on 10/20 unfortunately we had to leave the restaurant, Much to our disappointment. Today the owner John text me to apologize & is sending us a gift certificate to return. He excelled above & beyond in customer satisfaction. Can’t wait to return the food & service are great. Thanks again

What a gigantic disappointment, our reservation was for 5:30pm and waited over 30 minutes and the waiter kept telling us the party at our reserved table has the bill but is not leaving , at this time we left ! Never go back !

Great gem in South philly foods is always good. The parking is terrible, and the place is tiny but overall delightful.

Small but mighty. We were a party 14. Our space was cramped but great service particularly because of the attitude of the staff.

What a South Philadelphia find! The food and service was amazing. Staff checked on us throughout, as well as the owner.
I'd recommend the burrata appetizer and any dinner made with their homemade pappardelle!

I decided to come here to celebrate my birthday and it was the best decision! I ordered the Osso Bucco that they had as a special and my mom ordered the Chicken Parmesan. Both of these dishes were so flavorful. We ordered the Tiramisu for dessert and that was also fantastic. I wish I would've come here sooner!!

It’s usually not fair to rate a place based on one experience. Our dinner was on a particularly busy night, so i believe that’s why our service suffered. We sat a while before someone took our order. Our table didn’t get bread, had to ask twice. We didn’t parmesan cheese with pasta, while it came to other tables with their pasta. Our meal got to us after the table that ordered after us. All those are insignificant, but detract from experience. While the service was lacking, there was clearly some effort to make things right on a busy night, and it came without an attitude. The food was very solid. Pasta was cooked relatively well. The sauces were tasty. The seafood was fresh, but not everyone liked their dishes. The filling of the lobster ravioli was a little dry. The pasta with mushrooms was supposed to have wild mushrooms, but all it had was lots of white bottom mushrooms. It was also overcooked. Given all those imperfections, the place is still very authentic and has a great atmosphere. It’s a BYOB, so bring some Italian wine, which would likely make you forget about the service. The deserts were ok. Good tiramisu, but the kids didn’t enjoy the cannoli. They actually didn’t even take it home. Overall, this place is 4.6-4.7, but we’ll come back with a bottle of wine.
