This place is INCREDIBLE! And far away from tourists!! Truly one of the best meals we have ever had. Sitting next to the kitchen was so cool and exciting. Service was great, will come back!!

Cozy neighborhood BYOB with some of the best italian food I’ve had in Philly! The biggest standout is the lobster ravioli. I want to bathe in the blush sauce. Kidding, but not really.

Super tasty Italian food in a neighborhood spot that’s much more interesting than a South Philly red gravy spot. The baked mozzarella with balsamic vinegar is superb as was the veal and the spaghetti with shell fish in a white garlic sauce.Service was super, friendly and made great recommendations. The restaurant is a byob.

Food is incredible!! The staff had some leftover wine and gave it to us complimentary. This is my boyfriend and I's new favorite place! We'll drive into the city just to come here. We came in close before kitchen closed and they accommodated us so well and everything came out in a perfect timely manner. Great service and great food!Highly recommend.

We were late for our reservation because of an unexpected road closure, and the staff was very gracious about being flexible. The food was ok, but the service wasn't very good. Water was never refilled, greeting took a long time...that kind of thing. But the atmosphere is lovely and everyone has an off night. We'll probably give it another try someday soon because we've had good experiences before last night.

Food is excellent... probably the best Italian restaurant in the city, and I've been to them all. Prices are high considering it's extremely small and very noisy. Is it worth it? YES

L'Angolo, a small, intimate, authentic Italian restaurant in South Philadelphia may be our favorite spot to dine. Food is well prepared, ingredients are fresh and always cooked perfectly, and the small kitchen turns out a wide array of authentic pasta dishes, meats, and seafood. Sauces are delicious and everything is fresh and flavorful. It's a BYO, so bring good wine without paying an uncharge for it. Service is excellent, and we have come to know and appreciate the staff. This is a real gem in Philadelphia, perfect for couples, friends, and moderate-size families. We love L'Angolo.

The grilled octopus was pricey but delicious. Highly recommend that dish. The homemade paparadelle with seafood was really good. Large portion of lobster tail. The red sauce had just the right amount of garlic. Dessert was a ricotta pistachio cake. Not too sweet. It doesn't surprise me that this neighborhood gem requires reservations. I will go back.

Great dinner. Huge portions, especially for the price ! Smoked mozzarella was delish. Tight seating. Not a place for private or intimate dinner, more fun & great food typed place!!

It has been several years since we have eaten at L'Angolo's. Not sure why because each meal we have had there, today or the last time we were there; maybe 6 years ago is most enjoyable. It is so local and quaint that all the lights go out with one switch when they sing happy birthday to a guest. We had all the specials Grilled octopus, burata, home made papadelle with lobster tail in shell (5-6oz) and shrimp. I had the veal chop with mushroom sauce. All delicious and one suggestion a little less mushrooms and sauce on the veal chop. The servers are friendly and when the owner takes your order, John, I believe it shows that everyone in the place cares and works as a team. Look forward to our next visit .

Always on point. My favorite restaurant for that special occasion or just because. Food is always so beautifully presented. The time care and attention given to each dish is superior. Price structure is very fair for the great quality of the food. Never disappointing. A must try if you've never been. Gnocchi is homemade and delicious. Share some apps and a salad. Dessert, the perfect finish. Kathy M and John G

Wow! Once again. Consistently delicious offerings from the menu and rotating specials make this a go- to for us as well as the regulars who are diehard fans. Fish special is always outstanding and that pork chop is not only huge, but moist and oh so delish. Hard to go wrong with anything here. The staff is first rate which trickles down from the owner who is in attendance on various evenings. Whether the boss is there or not makes no difference to the quality of service which is always outstanding. Always such a pleasure to return .

This is one of my favorite restaurants since our first visit in 2018. My husband and I ate here many times and every time was wonderful. We paused coming here for dinner during the pandemic and came back this year. I have to write this review because the service seemed to change for me. The first thing we noticed was that we felt rushed when we ordered. They brought everything out including our appetizers not giving us a chance to enjoy the dishes separately. And our main entrees followed almost 15 minutes later and they were constantly saying are we done? Is there anything else we want? I felt we did not have a lot of time to relax and enjoy our meal, enjoy our wine or even to fully digest our food. For this reason this time was not a good experience for us. The second thing had to do with my entree. I had ordered lamb chops medium, and my husband ordered his medium rare. My husband was very satisfied with his dish, however I felt mine were alittle undercooked for medium and that they should have only been pink inside. I told my waiter about it and he replied to me that “it’s how medium should look”. I ended up giving half of them to my husband. Finally my husband said to ask the waiter to have them cooked alittle more so I requested that they be cooked more, which they did. The waiter came back saying to me next time order them medium well. I was alittle taken back by his comment. Their food is delicious every time but the service and experience did change for me which is why I gave 4 stars. In closing, this was our wedding anniversary and they did ask (when we made the reservation) if there was any special event for this dinner and noted this which we perhaps thought they would come over and say congratulations or give us a better table which was not the case.
