**EDITED** I had to calm down and find a REAL RESTAURANT that cares about the CUSTOMERS EXPERIENCE before I revised MY review.
THEY deserve ZERO STARS!!!!
I was attempting to be a new customer after attending a play at the Arden Theater (I will be letting them know about my horrible experience, so maybe they'll STOP recommending this restaurant).
I made a reservation for 5:45pm 3/29/25 . I arrived at 5:50pm, was seated. Hostess not so friendly, the woman wiping down tables was nice. About 2 minutes later my server comes, doesn't introduce herself, places a glass of water on the table then asks if I've ever been to the restaurant, I say "No" .
She then asks me if it's my first time there, to myself I ask "didn't I just answer that!?" But I say "YES".
She then says if you have any questions let me know, but then proceeds to walk off.
So I peruse the menu, pull out my phone to ask GOOGLE the things that I can't ask the server.
I decide on my drink, appetizer and entree, all within 5-6 minutes.
STILL NO SERVER
At this time an additional minute or two went by and I now here someone, WHO was seated almost 5 minutes after me, placing their order.
I look up AND it's the SERVER!!
She takes their order and leaves, I thought that she would at least check on me again, because at this point you would think that she would come to see how I'm doing with the menu.
BUT, NO!!!!
She disappears!
I said to myself " give her a minute, if she's not back by 6pm, LEAVE!!" It was 5:58pm by that time.
6:01 pm, she's back at the table. So I said to her " I was here before them."
She said "well they knew what they wanted"
NOW tell me how would she know if I knew what I wanted or not when she never came back to the table to see if I NEEDED help or anything!
I wasn't even holding the menus anymore because I KNEW WHAT I WANTED!!!!
I Went to the Manager with my issue and he didn't care just kept asking "Did someone come to the table!?"
Totally ignoring my issue!
I left in tears!!!
I believe that because I'm new and black that she chose to wait on the white people who were seated AFTER ME!!!
The mole enchiladas and brisket enchiladas were both good. The chips and salsa and guac were not worth it so I wouldn’t recommend.

The best item we ordered was the molcajete.
Our table also got a margarita pitcher which was strong (the best accolade an alcohol drink can receive)! However, I found the rest of the food to be underwhelming for the prices. The guacamole didn’t taste fresh and the suízas clásicas enchiladas & tres leches were just ok. The employees were very attentive and friendly!

The ceviche was amazing!
The servers there are quick & attentive.
My server Norma was so nice & very accommodating.
The music & ambiance is so warming.
I also ordered the chilaqiles with skirt steak & mole sauce. The meal was perfect to taste, but the skirt steak was a bit under cooked.
The Chatatini drink was a little too strong for me, but I'm sure other drinks on the menu would be perfect for me.
Order the churros with Mexican hot chocolate to go so looking forward to eating that later tonight.
Definitely coming back to try other dishes! Viva México 🇲🇽

Cute place, has a great vibe. Unfortunately, we did not have the experience we were hoping for. We arrived for our 7:15 slot for restaurant week. Our main course didn’t arrive till closer to 9 pm and dessert took time to come as well. By the time we finished, it was 10 pm and we were the only people left. The restaurant didn’t apologize for the wait or provide any accommodation such as removing the drinks from the bill. Instead they auto charged us the 20% gratuity and we left disappointed. Food is a 6/10.

I live across the street from las bugambilias and I am a flight attendant who is used to going to global venues around the world and this spot was the rudest venue imaginable. Even residing right across the street, as a flight attendant who travels globally, I would never recommend this restaurant as as place to visit.

My friends and I recently visited. We had this restaurant on our list to go to. Unfortunately the food was not good at all! My friend was served sparkling water instead of Sprite, there was HAIR in the food, the Barria tacos were terrible! The nachos were just okay but the chicken wasn’t good either. The meat tasted old or something it just wasn’t good. But fortunately the waitress was very nice she was very understanding. Sadly we wasted $70 and will not be going back to this place. Wasn’t worth it

I ordered the birria tacose, rice and refried black beans off of Uber.
I have had my share of birria tacos, since they are my favorite, but this place did not put any flavor or love in the food I ordered.
I have had better.

I was searching Google for a brunch place in this exact area. This restaurant did not come up. After walking past this to the place I had picked, we immediately turned around and came back. So glad we did! The drinks were amazing (paloma and retro) and the breakfast food was delicious! Very filling (which we needed after days of walking). Other places were small and busy, but this was empty at 10:30 when we arrived (filled in later) but has a large dining room. Staff was very friendly and attentive. After being frustrated searching Google for a "Sunday brunch restaurant" in the area, and not seeing this, that we happened upon it literally made my day! Do go here!

We came at 11pm on Friday night and they only had tacos available, which were pretty mid. However, the drinks were amazing as was the service. Try a less spicy version of the mangonada cocktail if you like mango and tajín!

Inexpensive, quick and friendly service, very nice restaurant, you can also sit outside, relatively quiet street. Lots of vegetarian choices.

Mexican is my favorite type of food and I've had fajitas all over the US, Mexico, and even Europe. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that doesn't provide complimentary chips. Also my fajitas were $30 and this is what I got (pic included). No salsa, no shredded cheese, weird dried out beans and a teeny bit of guac. Also, I asked for no green peppers but it also came with no onions. It tasted OK, but I do not recommend when there are so many other fabulous restaurants in Philly.
