I have been trying to try their food for a couple of years. The times I've gone before yesterday (10/3/25) they were sold out. This day I finally was able to get their $7.00 platters and was NOT DISAPPOINTED. I got two chicken wings platters. One with collard greens and yams and the other with collard greens and mac & cheese. The chicken was fried hard (not my favorite way) and was good. The mac & cheese was good. The greens were fresh and good. I could tell that they were cut that day. They might even had got them in that same day. The yams were perfect. The portions were a great value. I would DEFINITELY go back and try more.
It may seem like a like a whole in the wall hood spot to some BUT the food is GOOD. 8.75 out of 10

Man, I don’t know what people talking about that food was good and the people were that worked. they were nice and people say that they only give you a little bit which you supposed to get for seven dollars now I’m a big man that food satisfied me and I bought two plants one for my wife and one for me and we were satisfied and the food was off the chain

This place is very clean ! The restaurant is very professional and flexible with payment options and an onsite ATM ! While this place is not made for upscale dine in there are seating options ! I recommend this place as one for the top soul food restauranta in Philly ! Staff will greet you by name ! Food is always fresh cake is always sweet and fluffy and delicious! I give this place a 4 stars my fave is the chicken always crispy flavorful but not too salty Mac and cheese always cheesy and veggies always fresh. They also have healthy platters for 7$

Went valentine day around 6. Lady at counter was very rude with braids. Had us standing there kept saying hold on. Then say well ain't no more chicken. 25 min for Mac n cheese. She was hood boogie. Place in trenches not better than "COTTONS" 52 and spruce across from sunuco. Lavish food was plain flavor an taste like buffet food

Wow, they really need to work on their customer service. I’m aware of the adage that if the staff is rude, the food will be fire, but I almost had to talk my boyfriend into not leaving as soon as we got there. The vibe was so strange and there isn’t anywhere to sit and eat your food. That’s probably on purpose though. That being said the food is really good! Our chicken was just how we like it, the yams were too sweet but definitely edible (personal preference), the green beans were too salty but seasoned well, and the mac n cheese was amazing. For $7 a platter you definitely can’t beat the price. Also for safety reasons y’all should really count the drawer in the back and add some security.

I purchased two platters. The Whiting and fried chicken platter and the fried chicken platter. The fried fish was exceptional., the candy yams we're very good. The only reason why I cannot leave five stars is because of the chicken. While properly seasoned and crunchy, I received small Flats in both platters. Other than that, I'll come back one more time and hope that the chicken is the same portion size as the fish.
