I want to start by expressing my love for cats. I grew up with them in my home and have adopted several throughout my life. However, today I had a distressing experience at Le Cat Cafe. Within less than five minutes of my visit, I was bitten by a cat and started bleeding profusely. Unfortunately, the employees prioritized the well-being of the cat over my injury and showed no concern for me. Several hours have passed, and I am still in pain from the deep bite. It wasn’t until a second cat tried to swipe at me that the employees finally mentioned that the four cats near the front of the cafe were overstimulated and likely to display aggression. While I understand that the cats are not to blame, the lack of care and attention from the staff for an injured customer is the reason I will not return to this cafe or recommend it to others. I paid for an hour's visit but only stayed for about ten minutes.

This was the first stop we made during our trip to Philly and it was a great start. The staff was very friendly and the place was very clean. I had a cup of coffee while I was walking around interacting with the cats. All of the cats are up for adoption and it was hard not to take them all home. The music that was playing was early 90's soft alternative from bands like Belly, Bjork, Fiona Apple. It was a very calming, stress-free environment and the hour went by super fast. I would highly recommend going to the cafe just to unwind.

My boyfriend and I visited yesterday and it was a fun experience! The people who work there were very knowledgeable and knew each cats personalities, even if they were new arrivals. If you want to adopt a cat, and not a kitten necessarily, please visit this place!

They’re underfunded and doing their best. But be aware of this from my experience. They test for FIV but not FELV, I adopted my cat that was only there for a few days but it turned out he had FELV. The signs didn’t show up until it was too late.. ?? please test for everything after adoption ASAP even if the vet doesn’t suspect it ?

I suspect it may be going around the cafe ?

I went on a Saturday. When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm and friendly staff, the cats napping in the window, and the atmosphere.

It's so good to know that there's a place that will give unlucky strays good food, a warm bed and a chance at a forever home, most of the cats were very friendly, and were waiting for pets and attention. All of them looked happy and healthy, and the less social cats were sectioned away, though still out for others to see. One of the cats climbed on me for a hug and cuddles and I fought everything in me not to take him home.

They had a tea and coffee dispenser for drinks, (complimentary) but that was it in the way of food. (Understandable, given the cat centered focus, plus the area has a lot of restaurants)

All in all, I'm glad that Philly has another cat cafe. Since Kawaii Cat Cafe closed over the Pandemic, I was hoping for another business to come in. And I hope this one stays around for a long time.

These people are so irresponsible. That establishment has chlamydia. That's right, chlamydia! My cat got chlamydia and there's a 90% chance it was there. Plus there's a woman there who doesn't know how to treat people. If you have a cat, you'd be irresponsible if you brought it to that place. They put the cats in the basement and the hygiene is very poor!

Awful awful smell!!! My friend and I were looking forward to cuddling with some cats but as soon as the door opened we were hit with such awful strong cat pee odor. The person working was super nice and explained how it worked and activities they had. My friend and I didn't say a word to each other but we both said we'll come back another time. I cannot imagine spending any time there (let alone drinking coffee) with that smell. Two stars for potential and nice staff but the smell was unbearable (easily fixed to keep clean and maybe have a closet room with cat door for just the litters).

Such a great spot. A chance to hang out with dozens of adorable cats while supporting an organization that helps them to get adopted.

Great visit!! Lots of super friendly cats (one climbed onto my shoulder as soon as I walked in!!!). The staff was friendly, sharing information about each cat's name. There are toys to play with and treats available for a very small fee. There are all sorts of spots for cats to get away from humans if they want, but almost all the cats seemed quite willing to interact with humans!

Note: It's not as much of a "café" as some others I've been to (there's just self service coffee/tea machines), but that's certainly not why I came. The cats are the focus here!

I took my 9 and 8 year olds on a day off from school. It was a perfect way to spend time together. I've told my kids about my time at cat cafes in S. Korea and this brought back memories. The kitties are very sweet and will make great furbabies or companions when adopted. My kids enjoyed it so much and felt so at ease with he staff that they are hoping to volunteer here. We don't live in the area but its worth it to them and to me to visit with these kitties. I do wish there were other coffee options, but I'm really not there for the drinks. The snuggles, game playing and tidy space is everything it should be at a cat cafe for the kitties and the guests. I really drive home the fact that the staff is incredibly nice and I hope people will take time to learn about their and Green Street Rescue's efforts to provide what is clearly a safe and warm environment for future cat families to find their future fur friend.

Cats, cats, and more cats here. Many of them look out the window as you approach the building, almost as if they are enticing you to come in and give them some pets. Some others will even greet you as you come in, ready for your attention.

Many of the cats here were very friendly, and you can hang out here for a while and still not see them all. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here petting the cats and socializing with them. All are available for adoption and we were pleased to hear they have a high adoption rate.

Drink options are somewhat limited - a self serve Keurig lets you have some coffee or hot chocolate. But this allows the cafe to remain just one room, and we were having so much fun petting the cats that we didn’t mind at all.

The owner was very friendly and passionate about what she does. We were happy to further support their cause by purchasing a nice tote bag from their gift shop, and we also left a donation for their local charity that rescues and provides their cats, the Green Street Rescue.

I didn't order food. I was just there for the cats! It was so fun to spend time with them. And the $5 donation was very reasonable. Wish I could've taken one with me. Lol.

Before Covid, I saw a cat café down in south east Philly close to the river. Unfortunately, Covid did them in. I saw a different in new cat café about eight blocks from where I was staying. You can visit the cats for a half an hour, an hour, or more For a fair price. There were between 20 and 25 cats all different types, all different colors and each one had a unique personality. Once you are in, they have free rein. If you purchase treats, you now have very many new friends.
I saw a prior post that mentioned a smell, I had no problems inside nor that I smell anything of the cats. The next time I am in Philly, I will return. What a great idea!
