I only go there for the rye bread and bagels, which are literally the best rye bread and bagels I’ve ever had anywhere. It’s a nice little old fashioned bakery, they give my kid a couple free cookies every time we go. People were always very nice to me.
Best rye bread, and exceptional chocolate babka! There isn't a rye bread even close to what they offer anywhere I've ever been.
Phenomenal knishes, reasonably priced. Love the potato and kasha, I don’t do the “new” flavors. Babka and Danish are also great but, go for the knishes.
I have been holding off writing this review since July. I ordered a cake for a family occasion. I asked for gold icing. I was told after several questions to the bakery staff from the girl who helped me that gold is not a problem. When I picked up the cake not only was the color yellow, the writing looked like a child did it and the side of the cake was smashed in. The assistant manager accused me of having brought the cake back in and that I smashed it in transit when in fact I had just walked into the bakery. When I finally was able to explain what happened she did apologize but said there was no one present to fix it for me, no one in a bakery to fix a cake. She also told me that gold isn't usually used and I should have received a phone call to clarify even though when I ordered it seemed like it was confirmed it was available. I left the store very unhappy and embarrassed to serve it at my affair. I called back and asked for icing and chips so I could "rehab" the cake myself. Again, she was VERY rude to me. I have had multiple correspondence with the owner Steve who offered to reimburse me the cost of the cake and yet I have received nothing. Apparently when the check was sent in the mail, it never came. When his son was supposed to drop it off at my home, it never came. Nothing. I have tried so many times before leaving this review and nothing. As I look at other reviews the poor customer service is acknowledged but not corrected. I have been a customer for over 40 years. I will never go back...if I could leave "0" stars I would. The first picture is what I received. The second picture is how we fixed it.
Very nice bakery, everytime i am there i see fresh bake goods. You can find there from fresh challah or fresh humentashen.
Best rye bread anywhere And their cream donuts are the best
I ran in here to get a few bakery treats. The owner , Steven, was on duty. Never met him, until Monday , early morning. He is the NICEST man, I swear.. He was friendly, helpful, and knew each item very very well. I got danish, ( cherry & blueberry), and they were very tasty. They are large, but, a good buy for $2.25 each. Also, the rolls, & bagels, were just coming out of the back room ovens.. It smelled Heavenly in there...?? The baker even came out asking what type bagels I wanted. I tried the egg bagel, & poppyseed too. They were warm, baked well, and delicious.. I smeared them with cream cheese, at home. As far as rolls, I got warm rolls, in 3 flavors.. Challah rolls, also, Kaiser rolls, plus, onion rolls too. They were ALL soft, well made, tasty, and very fresh.. I will be going back to buy more baked goods. The owner is very proud of his bakery, & him and the baker, are very hard workers.. Go in, and try them out folks...
The owner was super friendly and even though I purchased a box of their delicious cookies, he gave my 6 year old son a few for the road!! Always a pleasant experience going in there!
Worse experience. Order 2 dozen rolls for a party. Paid in advance, get there and they’re not ready. So they give me 6 old rolls and 18 that the baker just threw together that look horrible. I let women at counter know and when she looks at the rolls just says I’m going to kill him. Not I’ll reimburse you or how can we make it right. Extremely ignorant woman works at counter.
Everything was amazing. Would recommend any day. Staff was very nice and helpful

OMG, So happy that I found this bakery. They are the best. Finally got a good rye bread that is wonderful.I didn't know that anyone made salt sticks anymore. That was my favorite treat from my childhood. You can bet that I'll be a regular customer from now on. The sweets are unbelievable.Try it if you get a chance.
Staff was polite & courteous. Best canolis I've tasted yet!
I will never shop in there if the short lady is there. She was very rude, short and inpatient. I will only shop if the lady with glasses or the other nice lady is there ( she worked lastSaturday to closing). Even the gentleman was nice then just walked away.
