It's a bar! If you are looking to go somewhere to eat, this is not it. But for a dive bar, it has everything you want.

Awesome bar!! Sarah and Amy are the best. They take the ‘Olive Garden Approach’ around here. When you’re here, you’re family (no trademark)

The larger, older woman at the front that's a host/waitress needs to be fired immediately!! Completely RUDE.

I’m giving Locust Rendezvous 4 stars because I used to come here a lot. The food is excellent, the alcohol is pretty cheap, and the overall atmosphere is very relaxed. However, I’ve had a lot of mixed experiences with some of the bartenders, which is what prompted me to write this review:

A couple Saturdays ago, I came to the Vouz with the intention of watching the Tennessee-Arkansas game. I ordered food and a drink and then asked the bartender if she could change one of the TVs in front of me to said game. She tells me that someone is watching the two in front of me. No big deal there’s three more to my left, so I ask her if she can change one of those to it. I get the same answer, so I ask if she can change ANY of the TVs and to my frustration she gives me the same answer as before.

So let me get this straight? You have 10+ TVs playing the same game 2 or 3 games, it’s 3:30 p.m. and the bar isn’t even 1/3 full, and maybe only a handful of people are actually watching the games and you’re telling me that you can’t change a single one to the game I wanted to watch? I’m not trying to sound entitled but it feels like a slap in the face, especially given the fact that I was possibly going to watch the entire game there and in the process spend more money on food and drinks. But just to add insult to injury the same bartender points to a TV across the bar and asks, “Is that the Tennessee game?” and I tell her no, that’s the Texas-Oklahoma game and she just laughs about it like it’s hilarious and to me that was the final straw. I ate my food, paid, and left.

This whole experience just left me baffled: I was willingly wanting to stay (and spend more money in the process) to watch the game and I couldn’t because the bartender didn’t wanna be inconvenienced. I may come back here someday but after having such a bitter taste left in my mouth, it probably won’t be any time soon.

Love the Vous! Typically the best neighborhood bar in Center City with a corner bar feel. Drinks are cheap and food always delivers.

Unfortunately I am writing this review because of a single terrible experience. I went with a few fellow servers/bartenders after work, and had the worst service any of us have received in quite awhile. I recognize this type of bar isn’t meant to provide the warmest service, but our server (I can only identify by purple hair) was jaw-droppingly rude and confrontational right from that start. More than 3 comments left us all dumbfounded and confused by her willingness to be flat out rude, even despite our attempts to be nice. Like I said, we are all industry workers as well, so we understand bad days, but I can’t even exaggerate how obnoxious the server’s behavior was (and we were all sober went entering).

Anyway, please don’t let this deter anyone reading from going to the Vous’, it’s a great bar, just figured we’d share our single one off experience.

If you're searching for everything a local bar should be, Locust Rendezvous in Center City Philadelphia delivers in spades. Since 1989, this beloved dive has been gathering the neighborhood with its no-frills charm, affordable drinks, and a cast of lively regulars that make every visit memorable.
Atmosphere: The vibe is pure Philly, warm, nostalgic, and buzzing with energy. Think wood-paneled walls, 2000s bangers on the jukebox, and TVs tuned to the latest Eagles or Phillies game. Whether it’s a playoff night or a casual weekday, the bar is alive with conversation, laughter, and the occasional friendly debate about sports or city politics.

This is where locals come to unwind, and visitors (like me, a lone Sailor) quickly feel like part of the family. It’s the kind of place where you come for a drink and stay for the people.

Reuben sandwich gets rave reviews from me! Phenomenal!

Locust Rendezvous isn’t trying to be trendy, it’s just real. It’s the kind of bar where you can watch the game, complain about work, celebrate a win, or just enjoy a cold beer with good company. It’s everything a local bar should offer: incredible atmosphere, lively characters, and a sense of belonging.

Coolest dive bar in the city. Can’t imagine having a bad time there. Danielle, Olivia, Angel, Nora, and all the rest of the homies are incredibly hospitable and kind. Don’t even get me started on the reuban or the french onion soup, or even the meatloaf special (and i don’t even like meatloaf). Everything here is superb!

As tourists from Detroit, we found this place so great, we visited a 2nd time in our week in Philly. The food was great (pub grub rules) and the staff was attentive and kind.
