Cocktails arrived after our entrees. All tasty but not in keeping with the attention expected of a moderately expensive restaurant hoping to live up to French standards
One of our favorite places in University city. Food and service is fantastic. Beware of one thing - they add a 3% surcharge for credit cards then ask for additional tip starting at 20%. Tip inflation is important to the owners of Louie Louie. Wish they would be smarter than that as their prices have inflated a lot over the last 3 years.
I had the cold lobster tail and it was chewy. Friend had chicken salad sandwich and it was so-so. Kelly, our server, was lovely and efficient! Three cheers for her.
Louie Louie is one of my favorite places for lunch. The food is great and servers are always friendly and professional. Chicken Caesar salad is my go-to.
Server Karissa? was amazing! Food was delicious. Environment was comfy and cozy, aesthetically pleasing. Also- shout out to the events Coordinator Ariana who was present and friendly prepping for a wedding and seemed very passionate and great energy..
In short: great food, lively atmosphere, and service that's nothing if not enthusiastic. Louie Louie remains one of our favorite places in Philly.
Went here as a celebratory dinner with friends to celebrate the end of a college summer program and we were very pleased. Service was really nice and the food was excellent. They had a large menu to select from and they listed their allergens. The food was very flavorful and came very timely for our large group. I would definitely recommend the mocktails too! Everything is slightly pricey here though and they did charge us $7.00 for still water… but otherwise check this place out if you’re in the university city and need a place for fancy dining!

As always an excellent meal and never feel rushed at all, cocktails are delicious! I recommend everyone to try it.
Everything was great from beginning to end, the hostess acknowledged our birthday celebration, server was friendly, outgoing and personable, quality of food and presentation was spot on. Drinks were very good as well and the candle in our daughter's dessert was a great way to end our dinner. First time dining, will go back again!
Was very excited to try this place for brunch after the excellent reviews specifically for brunch. However, do not go near this place close to the end of the brunch window. Our server couldn't care less about providing good service. Basically walked over and said what can i getcha? Granted it was near the end of the shift but we were looking to have a nice brunch and got there at 2:30 and brunch ended at 3. Whole staff was visibly doing nothing other than cleaning up even though we, plus a couple of other tables, came in around 2:30 but they all had zero interest in grabbing tables that would prevent them from their Sunday fun day. It took 10 minutes to see someone to acknowledge we were there, another 10+minutes to get our drinks, another 20 minutes to get food - no appetizers. Our server was actually behind us after we ordered our drinks that sat on the bar for a long time and someone else brought them over while she was closing out her checks. I am not going back. Dishes came out old - yes old - because they sat under the heat lamp because the wait staff was standing around talking about how drunk they were going get tonight and what video game they bought yesterday. I know this because we were sat by the service station while the restaurant was basically empty. Eggs Benedict was overcooked with heat lamp hollandaise, and soggy avocado toast that needed a knife and fork because it was wet and you couldn't pick it up.

Vibe and service were great which is why I'm giving this a 5 Star. Most of the items were unreasonably pricey. $5 for a soda is a bit excessive. The burger was also very mediocre, for $25 I would've expected much more! Everything on the menu seemed fairly basic but just way too pricey. The good atmosphere and friendly staff made up for the rest tho!

First time coming here with my family and we were very impressed with the food and service. Our server Seth was very friendly and attentive. My husband and I got the Louie breakfast. Atmosphere was great. Will be back to try other items on the menu.

Louie Louie used to be one of my favorite places but the last few times was awful both in terms of food quality and service. You can see the color of this Tartar is weird and taste was awfully horrible.

The staff and service was excellent! Our server was very friendly and helped us get out quick since we had plans after. Drinks were yummy and food was delicious! We tried the spicy crab linguine, beef short rib, branzino and tuna nicoise - all were great! Dessert was nice too- they brought me some ice cream with a candle for my birthday! Loved the whole experience!
For starters, in my opinion Louie Louie has the best Burger in Philly. Just typing about it makes me hungry haha. But on a super serious note, the atmosphere, the hospitality, the plating, and overall dining experience each time I visit is great. Outside of that the kitchen & bathrooms are always super clean and those 2 things are very important to me.
