I can only speak to the meatball sub because some friends picked it up for me, but this was maybe the best meatball sub I've ever had. HUGE meatballs, bonus ricotta, and the perfect amount of sauce. Definitely messy but worth the effort.

I recently had lunch in Lucky's Trading Post and tried two standout sandwiches that didn’t disappoint.

Paulie is their take on a classic cheesesteak, featuring thinly sliced ribeye, Cooper Sharp American cheese, and a touch of their signature cheese sauce. The garlic butter toasted Liscio’s seeded roll adds just the right amount of crunch, making this a solid cheesesteak option.

Carmine is a classic Italian hoagie with a spicy twist. It’s packed with hot capocollo, sopressata, prosciutto, and mortadella, all layered with a cherry pepper spread, sharp provolone, and crisp veggies. The oil and red wine vinegar tie everything together on a seeded long roll, giving it a nice kick.

The owner, Chris, is clearly on top of his sandwich and culinary game. Both sandwiches were flavorful and satisfying, and the laid-back, neighborhood vibe of the spot, connected to Lucky’s Last Chance, made for a great casual lunch. Can't wait to return to try more . . .

If you like to pay a lot for small amounts of food, this is the place for you. On the photo below, the $11 “thick sliced” turkey (I’m guessing the logic is that jf you label it “thick sliced”, you can only use a slice-slice and a half per sandwich) sandwich at Sunshine Sandwich, their best with additional two tomatoes, a few leaves of lettuce and some bits of bacon. The bread is slightly fried in butter and soaked in salad dressing, so it must be there where the abundance is, although you know, inflation. If that’s not enough for you, you can grab one of the small bags of chips with label $1.00 and actual price $3.50. For those with entrepreneurial spirit, definitely talk to the managers on how big the profits must be. Cool atmosphere, will not be returning for sure. In this case, the “we have it at home” works in full force.
