Best LIT (pronounced el-EYE-tee) in the Greater Philadelphia Area. And the bartenders never even bat an eyelash when I ask them to “make it strong.” Most accommodating staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of serving me. Fun tunes. Cold drinks. Good times.
The only thing about Mad River that disappoints me is the fact that they're closed on (some) Sundays and Mondays... I wonder if I sneak in with a blanket and pillow I could just stay over? Doubt I can sneak anything past those security guys though! They're on their A game, which is great because I always feel so safe when I'm there. I guess what I'm trying to say here is that Mad River is my safe space... my happy place. Like, you know that scene in Happy Gilmore when he goes...read full review

Unfortunately the Mad River Manayunk (Phila. PA) closed in May of 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, according to phillyvoice.com, May 18, 2020. There is a For Rent sign on the building.
