Mandarin Palace may seem like a seedy hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant, but that exterior masks what is likely the best American Chinese food in Philadelphia. I have tried many Chinese takeout places before realizing Mandarin Palace exists and was continually disappointed by each of them.Everything here is flavorful, well put together, and most importantly for any take out place, consistent, regardless of the day of the week. Every time we have ordered from here, the order was put together promptly, accurately, and with the same high quality every time. The only real con is that it's expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. The food here is second to none.Stay away from the non-American Chinese dishes though. This is NOT a sushi/Thai/Vietnamese place or anything besides American Chinese. Those dishes are mediocre at best and to be avoided.

Sushi was pretty delicious. Everyone loved the Fried Crab Rangoon. Party Trays A & B were both good as were the gyozas. Delivery was on time.

Ordered pork fried rice and it’s so bland that looks like it’s never been seasoned. The rice is too soft, the texture doesn’t seem right. I won’t ever get from them again :(

Ordered on Uber eats. The sushi was extremely fresh and delicious. The rolls were a great portion amount of fish to rice ration. The scallion pancakes/Chinese pizza was so full (not thin), perfect crunch and also softness. Everything was delicious. I think I found my go to sushi place. Will order again!

Review from my six year old, who demanded that we leave a review: “I loved your food so much and I loved your little kitty with the waving arm and I want to give you infinity stars because your food is super duper good!!!”We ordered take out around 8:30 pm over the phone because we were staying in a hotel nearby and needed something quick and easy. Food was delicious, hot, and ready quickly. We ordered the chicken noodle soup, General Tso’s with fried rice (mild), and steamed chicken dumplings.

We got delivery through grubhub. Food arrived earlier than expected from the app timings. Everything was very delicious and lots of flavors. The only comment i would have is that i wish they described the food better in the menu or have pictures.4.5/5

Leaving it too late to book some of the fancy restaurants in Philly on a Saturday night, we decided that we would go for a local Chinese recommended by our hotel. For some reason in the US, people don’t seam to eat Chinese food in restaurants like we do at home so when we got there it was very quiet, in fact we were the only ones dining in on a Saturday night, end of October at 8pm. We knew that they did not sell alcohol so we took our own bottle of wine with us which we had bought at the nearby liquor store just around the corner. The restaurant is quite large and typically here, more like a diner, quite brightly lit, not a lot of ambience but we managed to find a cosy table in the window and the waitress opened our bottle of wine and brought us 2 glasses (no corkage charge). We firstly ordered a chicken and cashew nuts which was delicious, large portion with lots of lovely crunchy bits of celery, carrots, green pepper and loads of cashew nuts, really lovely, served piping hot. We asked for the next meal to come a little later, just to keep everything hot. We ordered the crispy beef in tangerine sauce, surrounded by broccoli (so miss my veggies when in the US). Absolutely fabulous, so deliciously tasty. The portions were large but there was no way we were leaving a morsel of this tasty food. The servers were helpful and pleasant, the food was excellent and such a good price. Not a fancy restaurant but if you are hankering for a Chinese, this is the place to get it, highly recommend. If you are wanting something for dessert afterwards there is an ice cream shop on the corner which is open until 11pm.

The service was very friendly. We ordered sushi and the dish with eggplant and tofu, both was delicious!

Got the Tangerine beef. Excellent. Probably the best orange or tangerine beef I've had in 30 yrs. Tender beef, not overcooked, coating was properly done with good frying. Brocolli was crisp and bright green. Sauce was correct, with tangerine peel and chilis sauteed in oil, thickened with tapioca starch for translucency instead of corn starch... just overall excellent cooking. Will absolutely come again.

With a $100+ delivery order, items were missing, overcooked, and poorly seasoned. I have no idea why the reviews are so high, as I’ve had better cuisine in food courts. I’d recommend finding another restaurant.
