Server seemed bothered to wait on us. Appetizers can with or after the entrees. Not ideal to have to eat everything at once.

Great food, good menu variety. Not too noisy even though we were there noon - 1:30.

Marathon Grill was a nice casual spot to drop into for solid American eats and drinks. The tuna salad was delicious, the tuna was fresh and cooked really well. The service was okay, but the food made the stop worth it.

On November 20, 2025, after a day of running errands in the area, I wanted a snack before returning home, so I stopped by several restaurants on the same street as Marathon Grill looking for onion rings to-go. None of them had any, so I went to Marathon Grill (121 S 16th St, Philadelphia) to see if they did. What should have been a one-minute task became a five-minute wait at the host stand. I have been to this location before for business lunches, so I’m familiar with the open layout, staff could clearly see me standing there. When a host finally appeared, he literally walked around me to hand a white couple menus, who arrived after me, while completely ignoring my presence. A worker behind the counter noticed the exchange, and when I asked her, she confirmed they didn’t even sell onion rings. This behavior from the host was a clear act of racial discrimination and extremely unprofessional. Management needs to train staff to serve all guests promptly and in a non-discriminatory way. I will not be coming back, and I will be sharing this experience with my network. For anyone looking for onion rings and actual hospitality, Garage on 1501 Spruce Street is the place to go.

I'm so tired of restaurants that refuse to give separate checks. I won't return if they won't provide this service.

The place is dirty. The food took a long time to receive. There was only a few people dining when we got there. We had reservations but the host tried to seat us at a crappy table right next to another couple. The chairs had holes in the wicker back. Never going back.

Always a great experience at Marathon! Food is delicious, portions generous and service exceptional.

We enjoyed our food. I had the rainbow trout entree which was delicious. My friends had the capellini and enjoyed theirs. The people and the service was great. It wasn't very crowded when we were there so the noise level was good, but normally it's pretty loud.

Service prompt and friendly. Food was very good. Mediterranean salmon salad and Marathon burger.

Vernick Fish is at the top of my list for impressing sophisticated out of town guests, and this meal did not disappoint. Starting with interior design, which is bc a visual knockout and then the outstandingly creative and delicious menu, our guests were thrilled. As always, we were, too.
