We really enjoyed the old Matines and were excited for the new space to open. We've been a couple times now and have gotten the same great food as before, but the service was OK the first time and horrendous the second time. The second time was with my parents who were visiting from out of town. After the hostess sat us down, we were completely ignored for ten minutes. When I gave up and went to go order at the counter, a waiter finally came to the table.

When the food finally did come out, a young man with airpods in served it to us. Maybe I'm old school, but it doesn't seem like a front-of-house employee should have headphones in.

All of this happened with the hostess and manager visible from our table.

Again, great food but negligent service. We'll go back if the service improves.

Beautiful place for brunches; Food is good, absolutely love the Rose latte🌹☕️
Need to do better on the services though - trashes and dishes were left on the table for a quite while when there’s a long wait line… and no one serviced us a cup of water after we sitting down for like 20 mins…

Love Matine’s but the service is dreadful through no fault of the servers. They must be short staffed, because I was there two weekends in a row, and both times we waited at least 15 minutes and finally flagged someone down just to get water. Another 20 to get our order taken. Our coffee (my cap. was not very hot) came right after our food instead of soon after ordering.
My suggestion - make sure people have water and coffee sooner. Then they might not mind waiting so long to order or be served.

It’s lively and full of light. Food is good. I’ll go back despite the flawed service! Don’t go super hungry though.

Matines used to be one of our favorite spots in CH. However, service has gone way down since they moved to their new location. This most recent time, our drinks were not made. When we asked barista he stated he didn’t have any drinks for our table. We let manager know who was extremely dismissive and arrogant. He said he’d check and never returned. The staff at old location were so kind and helpful. Management of this new location needs to replaced and trained.

As always the food is great. New location is spacious and nice! Unfortunately the service is terrible. It's never been super great and we have always felt like there was very little concern for the patron, but my last visit was worth a review. Totally left feeling like they don't even like their customers. I hate to leave a review like this, but I think ownership needs to know that they have a problem. I would've said something in the moment, but there was a fear of retaliation.

Prefacing this with I hate leaving bad reviews. But today we had a really disappointing experience at Matines. We loved them at their old location but this just doesn’t feel worth it anymore.

It was our first time going to the new location and it was just a mess. We were told there was going to be a wait for a two top but not given an estimate when asked. Fine.. but with that we were expecting maybe 30 minutes… after an hour of waiting we checked back in at the host stand and were told we were next.

We were then approached 10 minutes later and told there wasn’t going to be a table available for us soon but we could order that their cafe counter now. Like what? Why weren’t we told that when we put our name in the first time?

We ended up walking out and just going to Cake down the street. They took us and sat us immediately. Plus the food and service there is top notch.

On top of that we noticed a ton of other customers getting the same bad service from management and host. Countless people waiting around and getting fed up and leaving.

On Friday 12/12 our experience was cut short due to management sudden decision to cut our server Anaya from the floor. She was attentive, professional and provided outstanding customer service. Unfortunately, midway through our meal she was unexpectedly removed and our service was reassigned without explanation. This caused confusion and disrupted what had been a positive dining experience not just for me but also to all other guests whom she was taking care of.

I recently visited Matine’s Café for lunch a few days ago. While the food was good, I was very disturbed by the behavior of the front manager/supervisor on duty.

He was extremely rude, especially in the way he spoke to the female staff. As a girl dad of three, I found his tone and treatment toward the women working there disrespectful and inappropriate. No employee should be spoken to in that manner, especially in front of customers.

I believe this behavior reflects poorly on the establishment and creates an uncomfortable environment for both staff and guests. I hope this issue is taken seriously and addressed promptly.

Had a great brunch with a friend. Food was delicious and coffee was on point.
Service was awesome, we were checked on frequently, water was offered upon arrival, table was small and they did clean up prior to bringing out new dish. Very impressive.
Atmosphere is very lively maybe little too loud during our visit. Only suggestion would be the table are too close together, I found it difficult to get in and out without bumping into other people.
Otherwise excellent Cafe.

My husband and I have visited the new location a few times already and every time it is a wonderful experience. The food and coffee is consistently delicious and the atmosphere is lovely and inviting. The staff is attentive even when they are busy. Wait times are probably a little longer than most are used to but I don’t find it longer than at the Bethlehem Pk location and frankly fits right in with the slower pace we are looking for when we go out. We love the new location and will definitely be back!

I always come to Matines to enjoy my afternoon coffee and baguette. This afternoon was a bit different I was just here about 20 mins ago and the new manager is very rude. I wanted to sit in for a coffee but he said it’s only take out after 3pm. I asked to sit down for 5 mins to enjoy my coffee but the manager told me no and no dine in. His tone was very rude and unwelcoming I would not be coming back to this location

Very good food, but terrible service. I usually get takeout, but decided to dine and waited 30 minutes to even get a cup of water (another 10 minutes to get to order and very clear the wait staff does not want to be here). It appears they only have one waitress for all the dine-in tables which leads to a terrible experience. And didn’t get my hot drink until after I finished eating my food. Will not ever dine in here again and don’t recommend unless you have a lot of time and patience.

I was really excited about the new location but I’ve been disappointed. Just waited 25 mins for two small lattes that got chucked out on the counter with no regard. Everyone was confused about whose drink was whose and what was taking so long. I’ll wait a year or so to go back

Food is great worth the stop and wait. Although they have plenty of staff we still waited while around while staff looked confused, forgot to take our order and meandered around looking at the floor.
