This is a cute little cafe tucked in one of the streets of Chestnut Hill! All the staff was very friendly and the person ringing us up was very patient with us. The inside of the cafe has a very cozy atmosphere and it would be a great place to meet up with a friend or do some work! I ordered the black forest latte and a mozzarella croissant and both were super good! I highly recommend this place!

The croissants and coffee were excellent but our hot chocolate and quiche were cold. Agree with other reviewers. Quaint and cute but not enough seating and for the price was expecting warm drinks and food.

My wife, adult daughter and I visited for the first time today. As Francophones and French speakers, we were pleasantly surprised to hear some of the staff speaking French and how authentic this place is.The food, while slightly pricey, is WELL worth the trip. Haven't had a croissant that good since the last time we were in Paris. And the eggs were amazing - perfectly savory.Only negative is the tight squeeze. Recommend you only go with one other person, as all the tables are 2-tops. Chances of seating 3 or more people together, like us, was a challenge on a busy Friday. We were squeezed, for surePerfect place to go on a cold Sunday morning, pulling up a table for coffee and brunch.Parking: This place only seats about 25 people. No parking lot available, but street parking was ample at noon on a busy Friday

Today I called and placed an order. I gave a name and the sandwich I needed. No one had the order, No one knew the name. This has happened before. I find the service terrible!!

Just came for pastries and drinks. Cute spot, gets crowded and no reservations. Can only grab a table once you have a table # so just heads up!Good pastries, I like other bakeries better though. Pretty standard options, limited pastry selections. The tea/coffee menu was incredible though!!

The first thing to note is that you will miss this place the first time you go. It’s tucked right off Bethlehem Pike with a very inconspicuous sign. But inside is cozy with a great assortment of proper French food. Definitely recommend a croissant or the

Quaint little cafe with the aspirations to be a big cafe... Great menu and delicious food! However, the organization is a little lacking. There are limited amount of tables and more people wanting to eat at Matines. People wait around the counter or sitting down on chairs on the side of the merchandise section. The tables are one into the other giving absolutely no room for error if you decide to take off your coat - you will go into your neighbor's lunch bowl. The air is super stuffy as there is no ventilation suitable for that many people. It's time for an upgrade Matines! You are doing food right! Do the ambiance right as well! I would consider it for a takeout but not for another sit-down, unfortunately.

Adorable french-style cafe with really wonderful, attentive staff. It was packed on a frigid holiday and we are planning to go back when it's less crazy to fully enjoy ourselves. Limited menu, but great espresso!
