McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks

We dined as a party of four on December 6, 2025 expecting an upscale experience at McCormick & Schmick’s. Instead, we received shockingly disorganized service and food that was average at best, nothing that justified the premium prices.

Key issues:

- Seated with only three water glasses for four people and no silverware or napkins.

- Server took our order but left all four menus on the table.

- Appetizers arrived (menus still there, no silverware reset).

- Salads were brought out while the empty appetizer plates and menus remained, cluttering the table.

- We had to explicitly ask our waitress to remove the menus and dirty plates.

- Entrées arrived while salad plates were still in front of us—no room for the main courses, so we were stacking and passing dishes ourselves.

- We asked multiple times for the whiskey list before she finally came back with one.

- Steaks were served without steak knives. Seriously, how do you deliver steaks to a table with no steak knives on hand?

The entire meal dragged on for an exhausting 2½ hours because of constant delays and uncleared courses. Our server appeared completely untrained in basic table maintenance, pacing, and anticipating obvious needs.

With average food and service this chaotic, there’s no reason to return or recommend this location. Management needs to invest in proper staff training immediately. Very disappointed.

We waited for over a half an hour and nobody even came to our table to even offer us water. There were several of waiters and waitress helping all the tables around us. Eventually we got up from the table and was heading out the front door. There still was no apology until someone from my group had mention to her that no one ever came to the table. We are truly disappointed with the way we were treated tonight.

My mother who is 75 years old ordered fried shrimp, fries, coleslaw and brown butter cake. It was a to go meal. My mom traveled to Philadelphia for her post surgery appointment. He got back to the hotel only to find that the cake was not in the bag and her shrimp and fries were overcooked. She called the same night. The lady who answered the phone told here she can come in tomorrow and receive a refund. My mother went back to the restaurant the very next day only for a manager to tell her they can’t give her a refund because she paid with cash which is totally ridiculous. She emailed the GM no response. Called again to get the number to corporate only to give her a number to the catering department. This isn’t right! We will never dine at this restaurant again! Very disappointed and unprofessional!

Very disgusted. Reservation 5 adults 3 kids.
We got a table in the bar área, no in the main room and no comfortable. We received the printed menu and 4 adults selected Thanksgiving plate but after the waiter told us that no more. We received the menu again, and changed for the regular plates. 2 were no available so additional time to change the selection.
Now, the quality was no good. The Chef choice plate had a kid size of salmon. Very small food, the pork selected had no flavors and more bad.
Additional bad: while we were waiting, the restaurant didn't offer bread. We had to ask it, and brought a few that no cover the number of the people. We needed to asked more again.
We chose this restaurant because last year went the same person's to this restaurant in Chicago for Thanksgiving and had a very good experience.
Bad moment in Philadelphia.
If the restaurant didn't have enough food, they shouldn't have accepted our reservation at 8 pm.
We never received an apologies from the restaurant. No come anymore.

Thanksgiving dinner can be challenging for any restaurant. We had reservations at downtown Philadelphia. We were seated and waited for a while. My feeling they overbooked. Michael our server was beyond great. A true professional and showed big time attention to detail. Oh yes, the food was great..with take out for my brother in a hospital packaged perfectly. Job well done..Michael keep the great work.

We had early reservations -- which perhaps may have been an issue. Servce was courteous, but glacially slow. My wife had the chopped salad to start and the crab and shrimp stuffed flounder as her main, accompanied by a glass of their house Chardonnay. She loved every morsel! I ordered the Oysters Rockefeller as a starter with their Seafood Alfredo (baby shrimp and scallops). The Alfredo was a huge disappointment -- watery sauce that was spiced-up with hot sauce -- almost inedible. We split their Grilled Brussels -- almost burnt to a crisp -- also disappointing.

One surprising note: their bread service was a terrific dark sourdough -- very tangy and delicious! I asked our server for their source, but he never got back to me on that. The experience was mediocre at best, so I doubt that we'll be returning, as we're not locals.

I am so upset . Today is my birthday and I came there , mind you it was my second time going to the Philly location . I always go to Atlantic City location and never did I have a problem . I came here today thinking I would I have a good birthday dinner and once again it was trash . I sat at the bar and ordered a lemon drop and shrimp kisses. The shrimp kisses were good the lemon drop trash . I put in a. Order for the ribeye and Mac and chz to go . I ordered the steak MW. Kind u I’m a server and besides that , common sense tells u the steak will cook in the Togo container . So if I ordered my steak MW to go , why when I got home it looked the steak was medium !!!!! It should have been dead , well done when I got home . Bit ordered in house MW n when I got back to New Jersey it was only medium inside . A waste of a $50 birthday steak ! I am so mad I took a uber there . If I drove I would have brought them the steak back !

Amazing experience all around!! Food was delicious, but service from Anna was even better! Definitely will be back soon.

I had an excellent lunch. My server, Isabel, could not have been nicer or more attentive. I had the New England Clam Chowder and the Parmesan Flounder which was served with crisp green beans and just right mashed potatoes. The meal was served with a complimentary bread basket. Everything was delicious.

Had dinner tonight at McCormick and Schmick's in Philadelphia. My server, Trisha, made the entire experience better. The food was good, but an experienced server who is knowledgeable and personable makes all the difference. I would highly recommend searching her out if you decide to have a meal here. She definitely provides a first class experience

My husband and I had an excellent time there. The waiter Michael J had done an over excellent service unlike ever before!! Also Manager Brittany was really hospitable!!

Took awhile to get water when we sat. I had to remind the waitress about the cocktails we ordered , the appetizers came out first before our cocktails. Once the entrees came out , I had to remind the waitress for a steak knife so I can eat my steak. There was one party that was extremely loud to the point I could barely hear my partner speaking. I turned my chair all the way around so my back was turned to the super loud party of 3... it didn't help. I was so stoked to celebrate my one year anniversary here and it was such a bad experience
