Delicious food, lovely neighborhood gem and BYO. The chicken parm makes me nostalgic and the tiramisu is fabulous. We also devoured the beet salad, good mix of salty and sweet. The service is great.
Don't realize you t was a BYOB. Also portions were good, gravy (sauce) was bland. Almost like tomato soup taste and no bread. Beet salad was good but carried a spice. Would have been nice to have that noted on the menu. May have chosen the Caesar. Had the chicken Parm, one large piece, flattened, and some areas fried too well, heavy, breading, and seem to have just been thrown on top of the pasta.
I went to Mercato after several years absence and I think the food has improved considerably. It remains a very nice small restaurant with a neighborhood feel. The outdoor dining and the open front of the dining room adds to this ambiance. For me one of the big pluses is that you can actually carry on a conversation making it good for dining and not just eating. My wife and I shared the mussels. The mussels alone were terrible, but this seems to be the case in general. I haven't...
