Went for the first time on a Monday. Very quiet and open atmosphere. Omelets are delicious and hearty. The coffee is great and strong.

Good food, great service, good atmosphere. I was afraid the pandemic had shut down this place and I'm so glad it's back up.

The place was nice and clean and spacious but cozy at the same time. The service was great, our waitress was really nice and made us feel welcome and made sure we had everything we needed at the table to be able to fully enjoy our meal and kept checking to make sure we were okay.

While I didn't eat at the Mercer Cafe, I felt that I wanted to inform people of the events that happened to myself and my daughter. On Saturday, Jan 22 we visited after doing another activity in the area. The restaurant was mostly empty with 3 -4 tables occupied. We were warmly greeted and told to sit anywhere we'd like. After grabbing a seat, we were quickly tended to and ordered coffee and iced tea. An older gentleman was seated at a table near us and although he didn't say anything his eyes never left us.As my daughter and I began to discuss the menu and what we wanted to order, the older man began to engage the young ladies working.I really wasn't listening, the conversation was background noise. However, I started to pay attention when he said.."somethings I just want to say but certain people are here, right now and yanno how it goes.""Those people" etc.I looked over to the two young women and they kinda held their heads down and began to do other things. He continued with the talk of "how the neighborhood has gone down, certain people bring the police" etc. They still engaged him.I asked my daughter if was she uncomfortable, she replied yes.I went to the counter and offered to just pay for our drinks and leave. Granted, the young lady was very understanding and she knew EXACTLY why I was leaving. She offered the drinks and the food for free, but at this point, I was already irritated, concerned for my daughter, and just wanted to leave. She asked me to wait a moment and went into the kitchen. At this point I believe it was the owner who came out, he was extremely apologetic and offered us different seats, lunch on him, take away etc. While his offer was very nice, we declined. We declined because although he offered us a free meal and a different seat, he should have removed the older gentleman. As far as I know, he didn't say anything to the older gentleman.Silence is complacency, silence is agreeing. I appreciated the offer but I would have preferred an action of allegiance. So maybe be aware of the area if you're going to the Mercer Cafe.

10/14/22Wow. What happened? I used to come here all the time and the service was amazing. This time I sat and waited 20 minutes and was ignored. Only 4 other tables in the place, 2 of which were already served. I had to walk out. Bring back the old staff.

Lived in area for almost 10 years I always complained about there not being no good breakfast spots in the area. Well I learned last week Mercer Cafe was just the kind of spot I dreamed of. Food was great atmosphere felt cozy like a home, oldies music played it was an experience for me that I can't wait to repeat over and over.

I came here based on the star rating of this location and food pics. Came from out of town and did not know of many places in PA. The minute we walked in the first thing we were asked was how many. Our waitress treated us like we were outkast. We still ate there since we had a young child with us. Good quality was great for the price. But will NEVER visit this establishment due to the discrimination of service that was given.

Love this place! Can’t say enough good things about the food, the staff, and the service. The waitresses are always amazing, attentive and, most importantly, friendly and pleasant. The Mascarpone French toast is one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. My absolute favorite breakfast place, and their lunch menu is great as well (They make a great burger). I’ve gone more times than I can count, and I’ve yet to have a bad experience…
