Fresh and delicious sashimi. Miso is great. Salad crisp with homemade ginger dressing. Stone pot bi bim bop with Unagi, exceptional! We get it almost all the time! The crispy brown rice is done Korean style. It's the best!

Was looking for an eel bowl, and found a spot that serves it based on other reviewers photos. They gave me two layers of eel, and it was great. I also had shrimp on the side. I'd go back again.

My only complaint is maybe they need to use table covers, or buff and resurface the tables as it has a sticky texture to it. I wished the exterior of the building was not your average Philly building, but more like a restaurant. Without the Mr.Sushi sign, I would not know it was there. The sign does look new and vibrant though, and caught my eye from down the street.

Best sushi in the area and the atmosphere is amazing as well. Friendly staff mixed with great food makes this a no-brainer for any time you crave Japanese food.

Highly recommended!
Almond chicken tastes good on the outside! The subtle and nutty flavor of almonds goes perfectly with the juicy, tender chicken. I'm glad it's not salty compared to other places.
It goes well with the sweet and salty soy sauce.
The assorted fries were plentiful and had a variety of varieties.
Even the air was dry! It was delicious because the rice grains were still alive. The sincerity and know-how to cook a delicious bowl of rice!
I will have to come here often.

This place is a hidden gem in the NE Philadelphia area.
The almond chicken slaps HARD. Soft, tender, juicy chicken with a crunchy, mellow, savory, fried-almond crust-absolutely delicious. The teriyaki sauce complements the texture and flavor of the almond chicken well.
The mixed tempura was great. Big serving size, definitely sharable between 2+ people, and a nice variety of fried stuff. The tempura was crispy and light, while having a nice savory flavor.
I can tell this place takes their cooking seriously because even their white rice was cooked really well. When the individual grains of cooked rice are nice and plump and distinct, rather than being overcooked, wet, and lowkey crushed, it really shows the attention the chefs are giving to the dishes cooked. I'm stoked to try the sushi and everything else on the menu.
The service was fast, and the server was friendly.
Looking forward to dining here more frequently.

Mr Sushi is the real deal!
Food is always high quality and prepared fast. I’ve ordered via DoorDash, for pick up and dined in and have always had great yummy food. My son says they have the best miso soup (and he’s a picky!) and my daughter loves the California roll and udon tempora. They have a really interesting and varied selection of rolls, which I’m slowing making my way through. Matcha tiramisu is insanely good, as are the rainbow and ex-girlfriend rolls! Literally haven’t had a bad thing here yet. I look forward to trying more dishes!
Staff is super nice and friendly, prices are reasonable, portions are good.

Kid-friendliness: My kids love to eat in the restaurant. Good vibes and they love the music. Very accommodating (even when we immediately had a spill our first time dining in ?‍♀️) and pleasant staff.

Had a great experience at Mr Sushi. We used to come here several times a week back when it was Makiman. They are still BYOB which is great to be able to bring a bottle of wine. Food was good, but feels like it's missing a spark it once had. Hopefully they find it because I would love to go back.

Vegetarian options: Some rolls available with vegetables, or fruit inside. Also vegetable tempura available, maybe vegetarian, most likely not vegan please inquire with chef.

Parking: Lots of spots right outside restaurant.

I have been coming here for years since before when they were called Maki Man.

I love their fusion rolls & believe they have some of the best menu variety & combinations of any sushi place I have been to across the country.

Unfortunately, over the past year that I have been ordering from here, I have been having “stomach issues” afterwards every single time. I don’t know if it’s the quality, if it’s old fish, or they need to better their health standards… But whatever it is, something needs to be addressed.

I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but this has happened far too often already. I truly adore this place and hope this quality issue is addressed because I really want to give this place 5 stars & recommend it to people like I did in the past.

I love this place! The food is always delicious and tasty. It's a small, intimate setting, but a great place for lunch with friends or a cute 1st date. I believe it's BYOB. I use this place for takeout and dine in.

Very discreet restaurant tucked away at the 5 points. Very high-quality crafted sushi at reasonable prices. Countless rolls to choose from and all the ones I had were very satisfying. The young lady( Daisey I think) was very pleasant as well, while being attentive and very genuine with her recommendations.

Let's start with the good.

The servers and manager are extremely friendly, helpful, and prompt.

The presentation of the food was very pleasing as well.

Now. Let's get to the food.

Miso Soup. It was salty, but decent enough.

Salad. It was decent. But the ginger dressing was a bit too watery.

The Tempura was better than the others, and I wouldn't mind ordering it again.

The udon was OK. A bit too salty as well.

Now to the sushi.

The best part = The Nigiri

The decent part = The Maki

The horrible part = The Sashimi

If you compared the quantity of the food to the price, then it's passable.

But if you compared the quality of the food to the price, it is grossly overpriced.

I hope their quality improves as I really enjoyed the service, their presentation, and some of the food was decent enough.
