Prices are ridiculous for small portions and flavorless food. Will not be returning.

I really wanted to ignore the reviews and give it a chance. But in the end, it comes down to texture and flavor and neither hit the mark. Let's just say I'm still hungry... and won't be going back. Trust the reviews, they're right. It's not good....
I hope they can up their game. It's a great location and has so much potential.

Disappointing. Don't recommend. And won't be back.

Got Lunch Special of Sweet and Sour Chicken with Pork Fried Rice and Hot and Sour Soup.

The chicken was breaded and designed to take up container space. That's cheaping out. In addition, the breading was not fully cooked. Yuk.

The pork fried rice had minimal onions and pork. Unlike a better place, it had no bean sprouts.

The hot and sour soup didn't have mushrooms. It also wasn't spicy hot at all. Even temperature-wise, I'll point out for you that the soup was not evenly heated. It was actually cold in spots.

When compared to my China Inn review, this place -- New Ruby Chinese Restaurant -- fails.

****PLEASE READ ! ! ! TRUST ME....when I say, DONT eat here,DON'T eat here. I am NOT saying their food is bad,I am NOT saying the owners are bad ,or unfriendly people. However, this restaurant DOES NOT deserve anyones business until they wake up. I am unfortunately sure my experience is NOT uncommon with Chinese restaurants/ takeout. Their ( Ruby's) food handling practices are almost criminal,at minimum, grossly negligent.Recently, I was in the back part of their kitchen. There was a stainless steel vat of RAW chicken, stewing in a slimy pink liquid, 3 foot from the open back screen door, which btw had big gashes in it where flies can easily get in (and they do) , land on the rim, eat, and probably lay eggs . This btw was all going on when their kitchen was 80+ degrees. It DOES NOT take a rocket scientist to understand what happens when raw MEAT sits,in high temperature throughout the day. If these owners have no problems doing this , just imagine what the rest of this picture looks like? Look , I LOVE Chinese people,I really do, I love their food too. They have a GREAT culture. So I am NOT trying to hurt these hard working owners. But, they need to WAKE UP and truly understand how they are handling their raw foods is not only wrong, it's downright DANGEROUS !NOTE : A good sign ( not a guarantee ) that a restaurant is clean, and the owners are serious about cleanliness is what their air conditioning return grills look like. If they are covered with clumps of lint, dirt ,like they were NEVER EVER vacuumed, be VERY weary.Trust me,I am in the field that starts with H and ends with C.Most people never think about this but if a restaurant does NOT take care of and maintain their HVAC system, this can and WILL compromise the cleanliness / sanitary conditions of their kitchen. Every time the systems blower comes on,dirty air filters WILL pull dirt off filters and blow it ALL over their food prep area like that slimy 20 pound vat of raw chicken I witnessed . My advice. IF......you can ever find a Chinese Restaurant, where you know for sure the owners are very serious, and conscientious about keeping their kitchens clean, give them ALL of your business. Cuz,this is thee ONLY way Chinese restaurants will get better over living in China, their cleanliness standards are behind the rest of the industrialized world. Hopefully when new generations of owners take over ,who were born here, and fully comprehend the importance of sanitary food handling practices AND clean kitchen/ restaurant means,we Chinese food lovers will see a rebirth of Chinese Cuisine. To ANYONE who may read my review. Once again,I am NOT saying their food is bad cuz I truly do not know. I am only going by their food handling practices. Good luck ?

Take out. Sometimes very good, sometimes awful. No consistency. $25 worth of food became $41. Delivery charge is 4.99!! "Service Fee" 5%!!! Plus tax, plus tip. Not good enough or reliable enough to get GOUGED this way. Shop around or pick it up yourself. Why is delivery so expensive when it takes a hour or more to get food?
