I usually come here for lunch when working in the office as prices and great and food is also great, but today my sandwich was inedible. The deli meat was clearly very old and I did not feel safe eating it. Very disappointing.
First time here great layout, quality food choice, good prices, friendly staff, went here for 60 today trip
Stopped in for a sandwich. People on the job always say the sandwiches are good. I ordered an Italian Hoagie. It was decent. Flavorful. Didn’t have to wait long. This place is a convenience store as well as a deli. They make breakfast sandwiches and wraps and hoagies. They have bagels and fruit salads. Seating inside as well as outside. You usually can breeze in and out in no time.
Much better than the other center city locations. Staff is always polite and helpful. Good selection of necessities and reasonable beer selection. Deli sandwiches always tasty.
Got a prosciutto panini. Meat was overly dry, bread tasted off. Overall vibe of the store is bad, feels grimy and run down.
I recently had the misfortune of visiting an establishment that was utterly appalling in terms of the behavior of its staff. At approximately 2:45 pm, I encountered two employees who exhibited blatant racism and egregious rudeness. One of them, in a blatant display of profiling, followed me throughout the store, ostensibly to monitor my actions and prevent potential theft. What's striking is that, despite my attire being significantly more expensive than what I assume to be their monthly salary, they still felt compelled to subject me to such discriminatory treatment.
Furthermore, the cashier's behavior was equally unprofessional. As I attempted to make a payment using Apple Pay, which was taking a moment to process due to their establishment's subpar technology, he let out a loud sigh, clearly frustrated by the delay. When I requested a receipt, he responded with a dismissive sucking of his teeth, a gesture that was not only impolite but also unbecoming of a customer-facing representative.
It's worth noting that, even if a customer were to attempt to steal from the store, it's essential for employees to maintain a professional demeanor and not betray their establishment's insecurities. A well-run business should prioritize customer service, as it's a key factor in attracting and retaining clientele, particularly on weekdays when foot traffic may be slower. Perhaps if this establishment focused on providing a more welcoming and respectful environment, they would see an increase in customer traffic and, subsequently, revenue.
I ordered black tea, the bartender poured water into a glass. I brewed a tea bag. I started drinking and felt a moldy taste. I went to the cashier, they told me: it doesn't stink, the tea is normal. You can't make up a moldy smell, it's either there or it's not. You need to wash it or replace the thermos with hot water. They exchanged it for coffee, but the experience was unpleasant, I don't drink coffee.
Thanks for the friendly service
I've worked around the corner from this place for years and never knew it existed.
It's a great spot to get lunch, I'm particularly a fan of their wraps, but any standard deli fare is likely to be found here.
Compared to another sandwich shop about a block away, Old Nelson is just as good and much cheaper for larger quantities.

Used to be my favorite hoagie spot in Philadelphia .
Over the years the quality has just gone down hill bad.. Now they have hired foreigners to prepare the food & my hoagie wasn’t even made CORRECTLY. I really dislike the taste of tomato’s & the young lady they had behind the counter who barely understands English, put tomato’s on there after I specifically said NO TOMATOES.
Officially just lost a loyal customer ??

Great selection of food and drinks. Great sandwiches!
Terrible customer service I work and I am unable to leave my work I brought a hoagie large hoagie for $10 they say they weigh the meat I haven’t eaten the sandwich because I got it for my lunch I offered to keep it and called them and told them I wouldn’t mind bringing it in because I paid $10 for a hoagie that has no meat on it Im very disappointed they told me even if I bring the hoagie back they can’t give me my money I could’ve went to a corner store got a better hoagie for less money I’m furious and can’t leave work it’s literally they put the tiny bit of meat on the top
Thank you for always offering delicious healthy food options in “food sea” full of pizzas, burgers, pastries, and hot dogs. Always met with kindness in the store ?
NOT SAFE! Never stepping foot in the place again...They have a drunk homeless guy who holds the door shut from the outside..I had to exit through the rear door..and to appease him they give him cigars and beer...Get rid of the degradation outside of your store...I will never return and advise folks of their safety when going here
Food is always good. Wraps and hoagie are my go to and the meat has always been good. The customers are absolutely the worst. Some old head was blasting Led Zeppelin on his phone cause there was people talking around him. Really weird, but this is probably the least aggressive thing thatll happen in your trip to Philly.
