Food was rushed out of the kitchen. My main course arrived 2 minutes after my salad arrived. Also , I requested anchovies on my Caesar salad and found a $3.00 charge for them that was never disclosed ahead of time.
Everyone enjoyed their food however I went there specifically because the menu looked very gluten-free friendly however, I was quickly informed by the waiter that basically the only sauce i could get with the gluten-free pasta was a red marinara sauce, which I honestly couldn't even find on the menu. I was disappointed. He also said I could have any of the risotto but then when I started asking questions like was the mushroom risotto OK he said no so I basically ended up getting a chicken Caesar salad salad, which was good, but not what I went there for.
We had eaten here before and enjoyed it very much. Knowing that large parties are seated on the second floor, we purposely requested a reservation on the first floor, which was not honored. First we had to wait outside for more than 20 minutes despite our reservation. Then we were seated on the second floor which we felt we had to accept to avoid waiting at least another 20 minutes. We therefore spent our entire meal having to scream at our dinner companions in order to be heard. The food and our sever were excellent. However, if enjoying dinner conversation is an important aspect of your dining experience, this is not the restaurant for you.
Beautifully decorated Extremely knowledgeable waiter Positive and friendly bus boy Huge and delicious portions
Loveeeeeed the chicken parm Rosa ! The ribeye flat bread for starters was delicious as well . Our waiter was very nice and attentive. His catch of the day recommendation was so good ! Don't forget to bring your bottle of wine .
Osteria Ama was surprisingly an amazing experience. The polite staff was very assisting to customers from the minute we walked in the door. The food was delicious! Portion sizes are average to large. The chicken parm was massive, yet delicious! A wonderful experience.
Our group had the chicken parm, eggplant parm, and crab cakes and it all was in generous portions. Everyone liked their meal very much. The service was fast although it was very busy. One of the waitstaff said they would be back with “sides” and never came back, however because the parm's were large, we didn't realize until after we left that the pasta that came with the parm dishes never came to the table. The tomato sauces were good but comments were that it was a little bland. The crab cakes were very flavorful, crispy on the outside with a lovely cream sauce and spinach. They have BYOB and we brought wine, so that worked out well.
Really a wonderful experience with a variety of menu options... I really enjoyed the spicy marinara sauce, it had wonderful flavor and was actually spicy!
The decor of this restaurant is very attractive. Service is good. Ample portions of Italian food. The noise level on Saturday evening was a bit high. I would recommend this center-city Italian restaurant, but I suggest that -- at least on weekends -- you reserve a table. A good dining experience.
Disappointed. Ordered a dish without truffle oil and it came with truffle oil. Pomodoro sauce very spicy. Waiter was irritating and pushy. Won't go back.

a great place to eat in rittenhouse. Friendly staff and excellent food with fresh ingredients. Vegetarian options(BYOB)
Service was excellent, food was okay. We had the baked Brie which just okay. I wouldn't order it again. The chicken parm was okay. The sauce was amazing but the actual chicken was mushy.
Really nice looking place, and attentive staff. BYOB allows it to be a really good value. Food was solid. One pet peeve, they brought out our main course while we were still eating our appetizer.
The service and food was great! We got a special for the appetizer which was like a fried mozzarella, which was just okay. The ceaser salad though was amazing for appetizer. Penne vodka & Gnocchi Tomato Basil with crab added was also amazing. Overall the food and service was great, only thing that can be viewed as ‘bad' is when there's a lot of noise outside and the windows are open but for us we didn't care about that.
Excellent baked Brie appetizer. The lobster ravioli was really good too
