As someone who makes it a point to try Caribbean food in every major city I visit, I was looking forward to checking out Oxtails International Cuisine & Juice Bar. I’ve had great experiences in places like Atlanta, New York, Houston, and L.A., so I was hoping this spot would be another great find. Unfortunately, it ended up being a major disappointment—mostly because of how little oxtail actually came with my so-called “large” order.
I placed my usual DoorDash order and went with the large oxtail platter, which came with Rasta pasta, plus sides of baked macaroni, potato salad, and a piece of cornbread. But when I opened the container, I couldn’t believe what I was looking at. Out of the four sections of the platter, only one-quarter was filled with oxtail—and even then, it was just four or five tiny pieces that barely had any meat on them. I had to double-check my receipt to make sure they actually gave me a large. I’ve ordered oxtails at plenty of other places, and I’ve never seen such a small portion passed off as a large. If this was their idea of “large,” I can’t imagine how little you’d get with a small.
To be fair, the oxtail itself was tasty—well-seasoned, tender, and cooked properly. The Rasta pasta was decent too, though spicier than I’ve had elsewhere. But beyond that, the meal kept going downhill. The baked macaroni arrived cold and completely bland, like it hadn’t been seasoned at all. The potato salad threw me off with its unexpected mix of corn and carrots, which didn’t really work for me. And then there was the cornbread, which turned out to be pre-packaged from a brand called Daisy’s Gourmet Cornbread. I wouldn’t have minded that if it was actually good, but it was rock-hard. Microwaving it helped slightly, but the bottom two-thirds were still inedible.
At the end of the day, this place just isn’t worth it. When I order oxtail, I expect a hearty portion, not a few skimpy pieces buried under pasta. The meal wasn’t cheap, and for what I paid, I could have gone somewhere else and gotten way more food with better execution. The oxtail itself had potential, but the stingy portions, cold and flavorless sides, and stale cornbread made this a one-and-done experience for me. If you’re craving Caribbean food, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Ordered the large Oxtail and large Jerk Chicken through Uber eats and I have no good words to describe the food that I received. The oxtail lacks flavor was thrown all over the rice in a very un-appetizing way. The chicken tastes old. Like it was cooked a week ago. The green beans were so soggy. The potato salad is the worst in my opinion. After trying a piece of that potato salad, I was done trying to justify the $55.00 dinner that me and my boyfriend bought.

Customer service was terrible, and the food was disgusting
I really hate to leave this review, but the Jerk chicken was terrible, dry and a few days old, one of the peices was spoiled. The rice and peas with oxtail gravy and sweet plantain was good, but the Jerk chicken was absolutely disgusting.

Ordered oxtails , they are undercooked and fatty . The Mac and cheese is burnt all on the top and mushy underneath . Food was so nasty . I usually don’t leave reviews but this review was a must . This place needs a new cook .
