Had “The Paesano” from Paesano’s in Philly yesterday. This is in the Italian market area of South Philly which I love (aside from finding parking) and the people who worked here were all super friendly and helpful.I posted a picture with the ingredients for this one. This had a flavor that I’ve maybe never tasted before all wrapped in one. I enjoyed how it all played off each other (I could eat pepperoncini on anything and be happy too) and the roll was wonderful.Unfortunately I will say that the brisket was a bit tough, which surprised me. I believe it was cut on the wrong angle but there were multiple bites where I really had to tear at it. Had this brisket been as tender as it should have, I’d put this sandwich up against most sandwiches in the city…and I mean that. Put a properly trimmed and roasted brisket on this one and it’s up there with the best roast pork’s and cheesesteaks around imoDefinitely Didn’t Suck, but did leave room for improvement for sure.Check out video and more content on this spot and many others on my social media pages here - https://linktr.ee/Didnt_Suck

Tooo salty! Except for the extreme saltiness and excessive sauces the food was prepared well and looked lovely but it was soo salty it was unpleasant to eat. My teenage son couldn't finish his sandwich and he loooves to eat. He had some of my Tuscan fries and was like, "mom how can you even eat that?" Tuscan fries looked lovely, it had beautifully cooked veggies on it- peppers and zucchini and onions everything was cooked to perfection. But it was ruined with too much salt which I am guessing was in the white cheese type sauce that I couldn't really grasp what the flavor was and grated Parmesan, it also had some brown colored drizzle maybe balsalmic vin & I'm guessing more salt on it. It had so much sauce and salt on it that it tasted very not good! I was hungry & I tried to eat it because our meal of a sandwich, fries and 2 can sodas -- cost as much as my electric bill. My sons got the chicken caesar special (no bacon} sandwich - he only ate half and complained about the salt the whole time and had to refill his water 3 times while eating it. It looked beautiful, it was on a beautiful roll with 1 chicken cutlet (not a lot of meat), melted mozzarella cheese, beautiful fresh romaine lettuce leaves, generous pickle slices, generous white sauce and lots of grated Parmesan cheese. We wiped off the sauce and took the other half of the sandwich home which he ate later and said it was good without the sauce and parm so that's something. before we left I told the guy whod brought the food to the tables about the salt, he said "Ok, I'll get you something to wrap up your sandwich" and took the rest of my salty/ gloppy fries away. It was my first time on 9th st since covid and my son's first time at the Italian market. The salt ruined the food but it's a beautiful place with lovely staff. When a 16 yr old who likes to eat Doritos and chips and other junk-food thinks your food is too salty --its too salty.

A great find in the Italian Market. There was a long queue throughout and there’s no waitlist to join, so finding seats can be tough especially on weekends. The food was exceptional and the service was also good.We ordered Statiooch that had turkey and a lot of arugula (much to my dislike) but was really flavorful overall. We also got the Diavolo, that had spicy chicken and lots of peppers. It was very tasty as well - the mustard and the veggies inside were delightful. The only room for improvement maybe in terms of speed of serving as we had to wait for 20 minutes - but is understandable because of the rush. The cleanliness could also be improved, we did see some flies hovering around - but I guess that’s what you get in the busiest street market of the city. Bonus points for having gluten free bread.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

It's one of the best sandwiches I’ve eaten; it’s saucy, and the bread is crunchy and soft.

In from Boston, the Arista roasted pork, broccoli rabe, and long hot pepper sandwich is ridiculously juicy and scrumptious.

The pictures do not do it justice. Literally some of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. And all the sides are impeccable. The fries with balsamic glaze and roasted asparagus were amazing. Dropped 40 bucks a person just from ordering so

As a person with a gluten and dairy allergy, it’s difficult to find places to eat. They do have gluten-free bread options here and the bread was delicious. It wasn’t the small tiny gluten-free breads you get in other places. I did get my sandwich with no cheese. The staff was very accommodating with my food allergies, and that was greatly appreciated. Highly recommend this place the food was delicious.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options

Don't let anyone tell you that the best sandwich in Phillly is the cheese steak, the hoagie or even a roast pork. I had the best sandwich served in Philly today and it was the Girardina at Paesano's. I was in the mood to try something different, and I am not a vegetarian, and this masterpiece inside the perfect roll just blew mind. Will be back as soon as I can.

Fantastic sandwiches and great service! We came in for lunch on a weekday and it was busy. Cash payments give you a discount but they do take card, and there's an ATM inside. We got an anti pasta meatball and two sandwiches. The Paesano (I think it was called? Brisket sandwich) was delicious and mouse but could have used arugula imo. The chicken cutlet special of the day had a fat slice of cheese and vodka sauce and it was sooo good. We were told that the special sandwiches in the winter are a bit heavier than those in the summer. I thought the meatball was really good, tender and not too salty. The sandwich was a little salty. Would definitely come back.
