Cute little spot with very good coffee. The baristas are very friendly and greet everyone who comes in, but are a little slow, as there are only two of them. However, their lattes are phenomenal, if a little pricey, and the seasonal drinks are very fun and creative. They have a lot of vegan options too. The coffee is a little bright, but very flavorful. Very cute little spot which I recommend highly.

Coffee Shop No. 526
Persimmon Coffee
Philadelphia, PA

Persimmon Coffee might be a small shop, but you can expect big flavor and genuinely awesome service.

Walking up West Grand Avenue, I spotted their A-frame sidewalk sign about half a block away — a simple orange persimmon with the word coffee in lowercase letters. Minimal. Clean. It drew me in immediately.

Inside, the coffee counter sits just to the left. The space is compact but bright, tidy, and quietly stylish — almost giving off a Nordic minimalist vibe. There’s not a lot of fluff in the seating or décor, but honestly, that’s okay. You’re not here for the fluff. You’re here for the coffee — and it’s fantastic.

For once, I wasn’t in the mood for a cortado (I know, shocking). I was torn between a cappuccino and something called The Cloud Dancer. I think the barista could sense my indecision. He smiled and said, “Try something new.”

So I did.

The Cloud Dancer is one of Persimmon’s signature drinks — iced, made with espresso, ginger beer, club soda, heavy cream, and the ingredient that completely sold me: blueberry preserves.

It was delicious — unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. I sat there, sipping slowly, not scrolling my phone or reading a book, just enjoying the moment. The flavors reminded me of that childhood joy of eating a popsicle on a hot summer day, syrup running down your chin and fingers — only this time, it was the grown-up version: cleaner, calmer, and just as full of delight.

Enjoying life, one coffee shop at a time!

Lame. Barista didn’t make my friends drink for 10mins and then an insufferable barista took a table we were using away from a group of 5 of us to use it for other customers 30mins before close and no on sat there. So stupid.

So so so adorable in there! The guys behind the counter were very personable too! Matcha was excellent and so was persimmon dream! We will be back for more! The persimmon merch and decor was definitely a nice touch 👌

We visit my son and his wife in Philly pretty regularly and this is hands-down consistently the best coffee we've ever had. We travel A LOT and seek out local roasters across the country and no one comes close. We live in Nashville where we have several top-notch roasters and, yet, I have Persimmon coffee shipped to our house.

Great coffee shop that roasts their own coffee. It’s cool that they rotate their coffee selection on a regular basis so that you’ll try one variety one day and the next you’ll try a new variety you haven’t tried before. I got a flash brew coffee and a cruffin and both were really tasty. I’ll be sure to swing back again when I’m in the area.

Small, simple, clean cafe! There are only a few baristas and they have always been knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. Interesting drip/pour-over flavor profiles, but their signature drinks are really where they excel. They change seasonally, are always unique, and I've never been disappointed!

I'm sensitive to coffee though so this was a great option. Got the redjam tea and it tastes just like the description!
Service was also wonderful. Only complaint is why are there so many flies and very little seating💔

Cute, clean little coffee shop. Simple, but pleasant vibe. More importantly, the coffee was amazing, with fun specialities. I had their strawberry poptart, which was also bomb. Would be here all the time if I lived in the city!
