When several other reviews mentioned that the pizza was “solid”, I was hoping it just meant “traditional”, but yes, “solid” is, indeed, the best word to describe the pizza we had. There was nothing much wrong with our pizza, but it wasn’t outstanding either. It was just a very expensive solid pizza. Weirdly, oregano was quite unevenly dispersed. Had better pizza in NYC many times and made a comparable one in my home oven before. Wouldn’t return, but had to try once.
It might look a little intimidating from the outside but don't let that fool you. This place might have the best pizza in Philadelphia... Beddia is an absolute genius. Hip spot.
Beddia is one of Phillys best. It is a sit down and be served atmosphere but is also relaxed and casual. Always found service to be excellent but as far as the fuller menu I do find it a little boring and could use some more expansive cocktails - but let’s be real you’re here for pizza.
Pizza wise it’s an easy top 5 spot depending on preference in the city compared to Phillys heavy hitters (Shackamaxon, Angelos, Del Rossi, Circles and Squares, Pizzata, Pietros are all my top tiered shops).
I wish we had a location near me in East Falls. This place rocks great pizza and is consistent, which you don't always get with the upscale pizzerias scattered across a city like Philly. While it's pricier than the typical corner store pizza you'll find around Philly, the quality is worth it and definitely recommend stopping by once if you're in the area for a taste.

An unforgettable, laugh-filled, hoagie-fueled feast—absolutely worth the road trip from Brooklyn.
The Hoagie Room at Pizzeria Beddia isn’t just a dinner—it’s a full-on experience. Our group of four feasted like royalty, in a private room that felt like a secret clubhouse for sandwich lovers with great taste.
The service was intimate, friendly, and perfectly paced—like having your most knowledgeable food friend guiding you through a dream meal. We laughed nonstop between bites and kept looking at each other like, is this real life?
Highlights? Too many, but let’s try:
Glorious anchovies swimming in olive oil.
Focaccia so good we almost fought over it.
Pizzas—both the classic and a springy asparagus pie—that were wood-fired perfection.
And the main event: a parade of three hoagies. The Italian was textbook perfect. The tuna was wildly elegant and buttery. And the veggie hoagie? A revelation. We’re still talking about it. It might have changed us.
Honestly, we came down from Brooklyn and would do it again in a heartbeat. This is the kind of meal that becomes a core memory. Book it. Bring your friends. Come hungry. And absolutely say yes to the hoagies.
This is by far the most pretentious clientele of NYC posers you'll see in Philadelphia (in other words, it's Fishtown), and the dining space feels like it was intentionally designed to be as soulless as possible, but gosh darnit the pizza is spectacular. Drinks are fine. Apps are good enough. But you go here for the pizza.
Get takeout if you can help it.

I had the seasonal squash pizza and it disappointed me. I expected more honey, more flavor. I had high expectations, and I must say that I eat better ones in Montreal.
The starters, fresh vegetable salad with oregano and tomato pizza, were delicious.

Ordered the arrabbiata "angry" sauce with thai chilis, tomato sauce, mozzarella, fresh basil and pickled serranos. Couldn't resist adding pepperoni. Dare I say ditch the cheese steaks. 10/10.

First-time visitor here, and I was utterly impressed by the pizza. The ambiance is fantastic, the drinks are strong and unique, and the pizza is simply delicious.
Two large pizzas will easily feed four people.
However, street parking can be quite challenging around the restaurant.

This place definitely deserves to be in the top 50 in America. Had the butternut squash with leeks and the burrata with orange and pistachios. Incredibly thin, flavorful crust cooked perfectly. Try their coffee ice cream for dessert, too... You won't be disappointed. Everything was delicious! Great vibe and service. The secret to getting a table is go for lunch.

Pretentious, over-hyped, greasy pizza.
I cannot fathom how this pizza is so popular. The place has more wine options than you could imagine for a pizzeria, but when I asked what they had for cider options the bartender gave us the rudest look and pointed to the wine side of the menu. The bartender basically ignored us the rest of the meal, she never asking us how our meal was, if we needed napkins or absolutely anything. Frankly, a total pretentious b!itch. But a bad employee I can get over if the food is good enough. That was definitely not the case. The pizza crust was thin, didn't support the weight of the sauce and cheese, became soggy quickly, and was incredibly greasy. With sooo many better food options within a short walk in Fishtown, we will absolutely not be back.
