The fried shrimp are great. The breading doesn't fall off and they are a nice size, the sauce is spicy with a hint of sweet. The menu has changed so unfortunately I didn't stay as long as I expected.
It’s harder and harder to find a good cocktail for under $20 in a big city. Poison Heart gives you excellent cocktails, great small bites, and an unpretentious environment in spades. Oysters and waffle fries hit. The Songs About Keri is a quaffable, less sweet version of a good margarita. The Goodbye Horses is a nicely acidic, bright redo on a classic Old Fashioned.
We ordered drinks; my friends got theirs off the cocktail menu and I got the gimlet. The service was excellent; the music was a bit loud but nothing too bad and we loved the ambiance and vibe.
