Probably one of the worst meals ive had in years. Duck was overcooked and tasted like dog food. Caesar salad was poorly dressed. Pasta was dry. Took me 30 min to get a menu to get a drink. Avoid this place.

2 friends accompanied me for dinner on a Sat. The food was amazing! The service was good, but could've been excellent if the waitress didn't interrupt our wine and drink conversation every 5-8 min..not an exaggeration. We felt rushed. We spent over 300.00 total and tipped appropriately. Tables were very close together, I usually sit in another area, so this was new for me.

We were rushed the entire time. We were able to witness multiple tables that came 5 minutes before or after us not having a waiter, a manager, the bar back, and the original waitress multiple times rushing us to leave. Meanwhile they never visited the other tables. Yes we are if that’s what you’re thinking. Overall extremely disappointed with the service and the bottomless mimosas was no where near as good as it was previous years.

Expected a lot more. Wine list was wonderful. Food was ok, however had a nice selection of dishes to meet many palates. Food just didn't hit the mark on how it was described on the menu, which read amazing. Maybe an off night will try one more time next time in town. Because the atmosphere was lovely and we were well taken care of.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, nice ramp leading upto second floor restaurant.

The food is classic Italian fare. They do, however, need to turn the music down! We were s large group and even we had a difficult time hearing one another at normal conversation volume.
Wheelchair accessibility: The wheelchair ramp is long and quite steep. Thankfully, not a kid's style place

We often eat here when in Philly. Had the crab stuffed scallops as an appetizer and the pan seared bronzinno as entre. The crab totally overwhelmed the scallop. I like crab so it was good but disappointing. The fish was delicately cooked with crispy skin but moist and soft inside. The mashed parsnips are a good potato substitute and were nicely cooked. The mushrooms were very tough and I didn't know you could do that . All in all I have had much better here.
Parking: Outdoor dining is possible and pleasant.
Wheelchair accessibility: Check. I didn't see an elevator but there may be one. Facilities on second floor.

Positano was an unplanned yet delightful surprise. The decor was vibrant and inviting, creating a warm atmosphere. The hosts were friendly and accommodating; even without a reservation, we were quickly seated with smiles. Our server, Jamie, provided exceptional five-star service.
The chef truly impressed my taste buds throughout all three courses. For appetizers, we ordered the zucchini croquettes with aioli. They were just okay—lacking distinct flavor and feeling more health-conscious than delicious.
For the main courses, we tried the pan-seared branzino with parsnip puree and lamb with risotto, along with some fries. The branzino was well-seasoned and paired beautifully with the parsnip and mushrooms. I was pleasantly surprised by the parsnip’s texture and subtle sweetness, which complemented the savory, crisp fish perfectly.
My sister loved the lamb, but as I don't eat meat, I can't comment on its flavor. However, I can say that the risotto was outstanding—rich in flavor and perfectly textured. It was hands down the best risotto I've had in years; I almost ordered a side, but that might have been too many carbs for one night. The fries were also excellent.
For dessert, we had the chocolate cake. While I didn't try it myself, my sister found it good, though it wasn't what she expected based on the description. She anticipated a more traditional cake texture, but it turned out to be a harder shell chocolate cake rather than the typical molten variety.
Overall, Positano exceeded our expectations, and I can’t wait to return.

Positano Coast really elevates a night out in Philly. The restaurant is perched atop a small building in Old City and when weather permits, they open up the windows to allow a fresh breeze. The vibe is classy, Italian, with a fun lounge/bar area as well as multiple dining rooms. The tiled floors and nice finishings give it a handmade, high quality, rustic/contemporary vibe that makes a perfect background for you and your date, birthday gathering, or martini night. Standard and delicious Mediterranean fare, emphasis on seafood and vegetables, and they have good non alcoholic cocktails too!

Such remarkable attention to detail from the food to the service. I had a cheeseburger that I'll always remember because it dawned on me that that's how a real cheeseburger should be. Mind blown. Go big or go home.
Parking: If it's a busy time of day, you may have to go around the block once or twice, but good things come to those who wait. There is paid street parking on 3 sides of the whole block including a handicap reserved spot or two. You can pay at one of the Philadelphia parking authority (PPA) automated sidewalk kiosks or you can install the "Meter-Up" app on your phone. The kiosks accept debit/credit or quarters. Across from the restaurant, you'll find a row of back-in parking. And you'll find some additional 2 hour parking spots alongside the hotel just across from the before-mentioned row of back-in parking. ? ? happy dining!

A group of friends and I had a wonderful lunch on 10/15/24. We arrived early and only a few tables were occupied during our lunch, which made the atmosphere nicely quiet and great for catching up on our news. The food was delicious (as it has been over the years) and the menu was a mix of Italian dishes and seasonal flavorings. What made the meal extra enjoyable was our very excellent server who was unfailingly cheerful, patient, and helpful with a group of six somewhat particular patrons! When we asked to share a few of the dishes the server brought not just extra silverware but extra plates and bowls, as well, and offered everything with a smile. The interior of the restaurant has apparently been refreshed since our group last visited and everything was stylish, fresh, and inviting.
