Pumpkin is a jewel. We are heartbroken to hear it will close. There is no other place in Philadelphia with this quality of cuisine at this price range. Many thanks for 20 years delighting our palates. So, so sorry to let you go. Any chance you may rethink the plans of closing? We are ready to Go Fund me you if needed! Philadelphia will not be the same without Pumpkin!
Intimate restaurant with fixed-price,three course dinner. We had an absolutely terrific cold corn soup and a superb crab cake. One of the best meals we have had in Center City Philadelphia in the last year.
We had an excellent experience. On a summer Saturday night with the city pretty empty and the owners were not present. Nevertheless our servers were lovely and attentive. The tasting menu was a good value and everything tasted very good and was nicely presented.
I've been to Pumpkin 3 times now and each time it's amazing! The service is always great, and the rotating menu never disappoints. I don't know another tasting menu in the city that is as great of a value and as delicious as Pumpkin. Could not recommend this restaurant more. Will be coming back very soon!
Pumpkin always offer an innovative menu with fresh ingredients. Cozy restaurant with great attention to detail and an informed wait staff. Amazing value is offered for this high level of cuisine in a major city,. Fit for foodies
Whenever we come to Philadelphia from Brooklyn, we make it a point to dine at Pumpkin. The vibe is lowfi, the food is invariably superb, and of course BYO is a New York diner's dream. Recently we both had a cold corn soup to start that was a perfect blend of flavors, and then my main course, a tomato risotto, was perfectly cooked. My wife's crabcake with a melange of summer vegetables likewise was excellent. Those who might remember the Grocery or the Garden Cafe in Brooklyn should know that their sadly departed blend of smart, seasonal cuisine served in an engagingly relaxed setting still lives about 100 miles south on South Street. HIGHLY recommended!
We had high expectations but they kept messing up who had what and brought out the wrong food a couple of times. Also the pork loin was raw in the middle. I don't mind pink pork but raw is not good.
We were amazed at how good this tiny restaurant was. The choices on the menu have something to make everyone happy. Don't skip the separate order of bread and the tantalizing mussels. All courses of our meal were delish. We appreciated the attentive service too. Highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. You won't be disappointed.
One of our favorite Philly restaurants. Food quality is consistently outstanding. Menu is limited but every dish I have ever ordered has been fresh and flavorful. This chef is skilled and creative. The are few sure things in life. Pumpkin has been one of them.
The dinner was for a group of 7 celebrating a birthday. Pumpkin set us up at a nice table and our server Danielle was terrific throughout the meal. Always attentive but not intrusive. Everyone enjoyed their meals which were sized so that we could all enjoy all three courses without feeling stuffed. The tuna crudo for a starter seemed to be a big hit. Several people had the crabcake for the entree which was solid crab and very tasty. Dessert was something chocolate but most people had the lemon possett which was excellent. Pumpkin is consistently good which is why they have been in business for so long.

My meal at Pumpkin was delicious. The menu is small and prix fixe. I ate the tuna crudo and the tomato risotto. Perfect flavor and texture. The restaurant is small and simple in design. I ate on a quiet Sunday evening. I definitely want to eat at Pumpkin again.
Good food though since the prix fixe offerings can be hit or miss. I feel like they used to offer more choices a la Helm Restaurant. Good service, but slow pacing of courses. Overall a pleasant meal, but not quite as outstanding as we remember.
I've been to Pumpkin several times. They consistently deliver one of the most delicious meals in Philly. There food is eclectic and the presentation is exquisite. That the food is farm-to-table and locally sourced is a plus! I'd highly recommend the whole experience!
Pumpkin is a total gem! Went for my birthday and couldn't have asked for a more charming place to celebrate! The ambiance is an elegant-rustic vibe (clean and simple, white table cloths, candles, barn wood wall, vintage tin accents). The food is outstanding! It's creative and interesting enough for the adventurous, but tasty and familiar enough that picky eaters will enjoy the dishes, too. The friendly and talented co-owner/chef made a visit to our table to welcome us and sent an extra special dessert for my birthday. We were invited to chat with him and a guest chef who was also there that evening and we left feeling that we had made new friends and found our new favorite BYOB in Philly!
They were able to accommodate for vegan option on prix fix menu and the food was amazing!
