We chose outdoor seating reservations. It was rainy and chilly, but they had the table beautifully set, it was covered, and we had heat lamps. Our waiter was completely delightful, and I would come back just for him! The food was creative, unusual and delicious. Beautiful presentation. One could tell how much pride and care, the owners, chefs put into the food. I look forward to returning soon.

First time to Pumpkin after having on multiple goto lists for years. All dishes served to table of 4 were excellent. Server was pleasant, humorous and helped get us to our play on time. BYOB also major plus. Could be more generous with bread!

Pumpkin is ever inventive wide ranging in its seasonal menus, superior in its ingredients and preparation, and sympathetic with adjustments for health purposes where possible. My fava bean soup with fiddlehead ferns and mint and chicken pappardelle (without butter laden polenta) were lovely. Substitute Pineapple sorbet not too sweet or acidic. Service is engaged, informed, flexible and fun. Its interior is convivially intimate with risks: noise and, on warm days, heat. They have limited and non climate controlled outside tables for balmy weather Applause for all at Pumpkin.

Excellent food. Probably the best meal we have had out since the pandemic. Fresh, innovative ingredients cooked to perfection, with a thoughtfulness in how one course relates to another. Bravo!

I live outside of Philly and I hadn't been to Pumpkin for several years. I'm so glad I returned. The food is unusually delicious, just as I remembered, and the atmosphere is welcoming.
After nearly 20 years, Pumpkin remains one of my favorite go-tos in the Philly dining scene. Flavor, ambiance, and price are always good, and it's as good for new people, out of town guests, or just normal date night.

I had a pretty great experience with my girlfriend and family on a Friday night - they were able to get us inside as the outside became fairly windy. Great food, good service - very pleasant and not a bad price at all.The only improvement could be the outdoors structure but apparently they are improving that soon too.

We enjoyed this little place. Lovely ambience nice lighting, not noisy, tables were close together, at our table of four felt very separate from the table of two next to us. Food was inventive, lots of healthy ingredients, very tasty, some dishes out shown others.

The daily rotating three course prix fixe is the only option, and even if they had other options, you wouldn't want them. The food is delicious and beautiful, as well as being generous portions compared to other restaurants at similar price points. The restaurant itself is very small (~10 tables) with only one waiter at a time, but service is fast and friendly as well.

The staff combines warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism. The menu is both imaginative and versatile, accommodating menu tastes and dietary needs; the kitchen adjusted for dietary limits willingly where they could. The tiny space feels congenially alive rather than confined. I'm partially deaf and I could hear fine even with a full house. Their adding credit cards is a boon—as is their continuing as a BYOB. I'll be back if I can get in!

Outstanding food and service! Loved the tasting menu- perfect portions and delicious flavors. Only reason we rated ambiance lower is that we are outside in a streeterie and it was cold (in spite of the heater). It would be great if they could enclose these and make them feel a little more special. But go for the food- amazing

We had a delightful date night dinner at Pumpkin! The food was incredibly tasty. We are both vegetarian and the soup and pasta were both fantastic (would have preferred the soup be a little thicker, but the flavor was wonderful and we would happily have it again)! The pasta tasted homemade and had such an amazing sauce. Likewise, the dessert option we both got was so tasty!The service was wonderful. We had a funny, attentive server who made our experience great. We were in an outside table (in a COVID-era outdoor semi-building), which is why I gave the atmosphere 3 stars. The decor in these is nice and the heater worked great for keeping us warm, but there is no music and it’s distracting having loud buses rushing past and seeing taillights getting closer and closer to my husband as a car parallel parks in the spot right on the other side of a flimsy wall from where we are sitting.We will definitely eat here again and will plan to make an indoor reservation to hopefully improve the ambiance experience next time around! Highly recommend this restaurant!Vegetarian options: As a prie fixe menu, there are limited options to begin with. For each course, there are 3-4 options, at least one of which is vegetarian. Because the menu changes regularly, it may not be a great choice for a picky vegetarian who wants multiple options. If you like most things, I would feel confident that you will get a delicious vegetarian meal here at Pumpkin!
