The food was quick and cheap. The ramen was amazing and the broth was thick. I think this is by far the best ramen I've ever had in University City. Definitely a place you should visit!

I know both Chinese and Japanese food quite well and I have to say the ramen has a clear Chinese spin on it. Not to say it’s bad - it’s pretty good, just not as authentic as the other ramen place down the street. Ramen umai is cheaper though, so both are good. The tip is automatically 18% on the ipad and the waiter stares at you as you click on it so that’s not super nice.

The ambience and friendliness of staff was great! However, 3 of my friends got the Umai Black and all had food poisoning the next day. I had the Beef Udon and it was delicious! The food tasted great all around, just did not settle well later on for my besties. I think the Umai Black needs to reassessed, since all 3 of my friends got sick from it. :(

I personally think the ramen is not bad, but also nothing about it really stood out to me personally. Their fried chicken is a good appetizer.

I ordered Uber eats from here and paid for extra teriyaki chicken. I got like 4 chicken nuggets in my ramen. Definitely not worth $22 w/ Uber fees.
Very disappointed. The chicken ramen is a 2/5.
Teriyaki chicken, I spit it out and stopped eating it, it’s gross.
Never ordering here again.

Went here on a Monday because Terakawa was closed. It was an unfortunate decision. The ramen broth had a strange Chinese fusion taste to it, and like Chinese food, seemed to be thickened with cornstarch.

We ordered Fried octopus balls, Edamame, and Shoyu ramen. All were good, but nothing wow or unique. You will get a descent meal.If you are ordering spicy ramen, remember that spices tend to sink down with time, so expect it to get hotter as you indulge. Al alternative is to stir it occasionally.I like the neighborhood, you can take a nice walk weather permits

We visited Ramen Umai today and tried their ramen with black garlic broth and teriyaki chicken and spicy Miso broth with tofu. Flavors were amazing, and quantity was more than enough for a person. A must try ramen shop in university city area.
