The food was good (I had shrimp spring roll). The drink is even better! They take coffee/tea seriously! I had a matcha latte and it tasted similar to the matcha I had in Malaysia. So good! The lady serving me was soo attentive it gave ethnic grandmother caring on you.

Ok you gotta try a siphon coffee.. so many different flavors. I've been through 5 different ones. It's expensive but I'm telling you, you gotta try it! If you can try to stay in and drink it. You get a nice tray with a delicious pastry. If you have one I guarantee you'll be back for more.. trust me!

Amazing tea, vibes are perfect, sweetest staff!!! Great prices!
As a loyal customer, seeing this restaurant on Public Square was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!
Very quaint. House coffee wasn't all that good, muffin was very good and service was fairly good.
Was really excited to try this spot and went on my birthday. Right away the male manager was rushing the younger staff to set tables and proceeded to yell at them in front of customers saying things like “I already told you how to do this. You need to listen to me. I’m not going to repeat myself” or “Did I say you can stop doing the dishes? Why don’t you know how to listen”. He was so hostile and the younger staff seemed scared. I wanted to say something or leave but we already had our food and was scared myself so didn’t want to escalate things. This was 100% the worst experience I’ve ever had dining somewhere. On top of that, the prices were also insane.

not a fan super crowded and underwhelming selection
I stopped in for a to go coffee. There was a guy in his mid 20-30s behind the counter who took my order. The whole time, he was berating the younger guy who was behind the counter with him. I just assumed he was just a bad day but then I just randomly learned on reddit that this is a daily event and he’s also horrible to his mother that works there. This is disgusting behavior. Do better.
Siphon coffee was great . Service was exceptional
I came here from a tik tok saying how good this place was. They showed a video of the siphon coffee, one of the few places in Philadelphia that uses this method. I was super excited to try it but PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Whoever the guy is that works the front had no hospitality. I ordered an iced latte - he made it by pulling out an unlabeled storage container of pre-made coffee (could have been drip coffee, could have espresso, who knows?!) and mixing it with milk and ice. If im paying $10 for a drink, it should at least be freshly brewed. Regardless, the coffee was terrible. It tasted stale yet burnt. I didn’t even finish it. Don’t listen to the hype, I wouldn’t recommend this place - there are much better/cheaper places to get coffee in Chinatown.
$28 for a bowl of beef noodles that claims to be marinated for three days? This place needs a serious reality check. The noodles were lukewarm at best—not even hot. An older lady brought them out and mentioned they were made fresh daily, along with the veggies and hot sauce. That’s great and all, but at this price point, everything better be top-notch.
You’re charging $28 a bowl, yet serving only four thin slices of beef and some average third party noodles? The quality just doesn’t match the price. This should be $15 max, if that. It’s like they think they’re some Michelin 5-star restaurant—newsflash, you’re not.
And don’t get me started on the $10 matcha latte. Yes, it says it’s imported from Japan—where else would it come from? That’s the bare minimum for authenticity, not a reason to charge luxury prices.
The interior is outdated, with furniture that looks like it’s been there since the ‘90s—and not in a nostalgic or charming way. No vibe, no atmosphere, nothing to justify these inflated prices.
Just because the business started in the 1990s doesn’t mean it’s earned the right to overcharge. Riding on the success of the first generation doesn’t guarantee quality today. We’ve got taste buds too—we can tell when something is not worth what you’re asking. All the marketing talk in the world won’t change that.
