Great place for a big family brunch. Ages 7-70 all found something they loved. Excellent service, everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating.
We arrived a little early for our reservation and were happy seated immediately. Everyone was kind and seemed to enjoy their job. The food was excellent, smaller portions for the price but that comes with the territory of Philly compared to our small hometown. Would definitely come again
Wonderful dinner - fabulous food & service! We were a large party and the evening ran perfectly. Highly recommend
Excellent spot for a business lunch or just a general catch up. Food was terrific and service was prompt, kind, and accomodating.
Amazing service for dinner and breakfast Awesome food options and even accompanied gluten free requests. Very attentive and hard working staff. Philly, Charred steak and kimchi, grilled octopus and the blueberry homemade ice cream were definitely amazing! The staff was the highlight though
Our lunch at Red Owl Tavern was nothing short of amazing. Every single person in our group was blown away by the food — from the appetizers to the entrées, everything was perfectly executed and full of flavor. You could tell the kitchen puts serious care into each dish. A huge shoutout to our server, Janaye, who made the experience even better. She was attentive, friendly, and had the kind of effortless professionalism that makes you feel right at home. Her recommendations were spot-on, and her energy added to the fun of our lunch. We'll all be talking about this meal for a long time can't wait to come back!
Red Owl Tavern is an excellent restaurant, particularly if you're staying at the Kimpton Monaco Hotel or visiting Independence Hall/Liberty Bell. Delicious food with a relaxed atmosphere, and baby friendly too!
Eggs Benny with pork roll was divine! Substituted fruit bowl for potatoes. The sweetest and freshest strawberries, cantaloupe and watermelon. Bloody Mary is spot on with horseradish.
Ate brunch here with my groomsmen on my wedding day. The service was fantastic - thanks for the complimentary champagne!
Very convenient location to meet a group doing Philly Historical site seeing. Big comfortable booth and easy to get a table. Food was fine, nothing special for the price, making for a fine meal that felt a bit expensive for just sandwiches. Nice staff, but never asked about option of salad or fries with sandwich, which was an oversight, but all guests were happy to eat the fries. Probably would try something else if I were back in the area, but was a good option as a meet up in that area at the last minute.

Food was just ok and service was slow. We had to get up and ask for refills and where our food was. She never checked in to see how it was or if we needed anything.
The servers that we had each time we ate there on our vacation were super nice and charming. The food was excellent with the exception of the eggs at breakfast. That was the only blemish on all the meals (dinner once and breakfast twice) that we had there.
A really excellent quick meal on our way to a concert at the American Philosophical Society Hall, just down the street. We were greeted and seated by the very friendly hostess. The room was nearly full, but the sound level was moderate and the mood was cheerful. Wine came immediately and out two tavern burgers came promptly, without the buns, just as we ordered. The burgers were very tasty, with inventive sauce and toppings. Pasta offerings on the menu looked tempting, but we didn't have a chance to try them. Friendly, attentive waiter, and the manager stopped by to check on us. We'd been here before for a drink, but will add it to our dinner spots.
This is a great place for us when we are in the historic district of Philly. Food is always delicious, service is always on point. Friendly a d helpful.
Delicious food, very attentive waiters, and fun atmosphere! Outside was a little tight, but we thought it was fine for us. We are gluten sensitive and found options. I love how the hot tea is served in a pot & not by the glass. The only thing that I wish that they had was a stand alone “mocktail” menu. They can make a bunch of alcoholic drinks into mocktails if you choose though! I did not try them, but my daughter got a Shirley Temple which was legit- Luxardo cherries & not just a bright, dyed soda. It was delicious! My teenagers both asked to go back soon, so I'd say that this place was a win.
