Redcrest Kitchen is the Cafe / Diner on 6th St. just a one block south of Philadelphia's famous South St.; In other words, it's right where all of the action is. On this rare rather warm Saturday (short sleeve shirt in Philadelphia in Mid-March-really?) we got a outdoor table for our brunch and basked in the sun. My wife shared a hotdog and Caesar salad with my sons girlfriend, my son also had a Caesar with an order of fries and I had their very good; 2 scrambled eggs A wedge of excellent hash browns Two breakfast sausages And some whole grain toast To say we were all "Happy Campers" with this first rate meal combined with accomplished service would be an understatement. Along with a not too expensive bill, made this trip to the Redcrest Kitchen an outstanding experience.

The tuna club was fantastic. I ate every bite. My friends had the eggs Benedict and also really liked it. We all ate everything on our plates 5/5 recommend.

Love their chicken sandwiches and burgers, however I'm not a fan of their chicken wings or maybe I'm just used to the traditional way of having them. These guys are enormous. Drinks are tasty, service is great. Bar has a nice vibe. Worth checking out!

I loved redcrest when it was in East Passyunk so I was very excited to try out the kitchen! A friend and I went for brunch and it was great! My Bloody Mary was seriously delicious (spicy the way I like them!) and we split a bowl of chicken tenders. The chicken is just as good as I remembered. I ordered the blueberry pancakes which bc were so fluffy and also ginormous! The stack has 5 pancakes so I brought home leftovers, but you could also order this plate to share. The rest of the menu looked great CD and I'll definitely be coming back!

Great happy hour. Didn't know there was a food happy hour. When I asked what the happy hour was he only mentioned the drinks but I wasn't there to drink that night. (School night for me) so when we started talking about food he was like oh. Well yes hear are the food discounts when I started my order. So that changed it up for me. And now I forgot what they are as there's no me in for it. Or it's not listed or I didn't a HH menu or they don't have one and it's a secret Ended up getting the smash burger (so good). Fried chicken sammy. 2 orders of wings different flavors. Also super good. The spicy hot vinegar wasn't that spicy after all. And then a ranch sprinkled one. Well I forget the flavors. But they were both great. Dipping sauces great. And the entire wing counts as 1 piece . Not just teeny little pieces. So it was actually more than needed to be ordered. He was right. And a side of fries. And then fries with the burger and I think we ordered two more sides that were discounted and ended up with way too much food. But all delish and leftovers for next day.

We got the fried chicken bucket to go and it was top tier. Definitely need to come back to experience the full menu. Kind staff and efficient service.

Not what they use to be. When they were on passyunk ave in the small space the food felt like it had more love. Now that they're in this pricey bigger location. The food isn't as good as it once was. And they make a lot of goofy sh*t like duck fat live with blood sauce! What???! Of the F'k wants to eat that. You guys had a format, you did it good and it worked. This new place should have been an entire different restaurant and you guys should have kept the small spot with good fried chicken and biscuits. Well, it was good while it lasted, nothing lasts forever especially in this tragic city.

Service kind and thoughtful. Our food took a while coz they got our order wrong.Tuna club sandwich and salad were decent. Double smash burger could have used a better bun that did not disintegrate at the bottom. Fries reminded me of mediocre diner fries.

Had a great brunch here today with my wife and 2.5 year old son. Great food, great atmosphere. I had a delicious seared tuna club sandwich. My son and wife also both loved it. She had the drive through chicken sandwich and he had the grilled cheese and they both really enjoyed (I stole bites from both and concurred). I had a very good Bloody Mary. Service was excellent. They had My Neighbor Totoro on one of the bar TVs which was perfect since it’s my son’s favorite movie (and one of mine as well!).Kid-friendliness: This place is the perfect place to take a young kid out for a meal while still being the exact type of place you’d like to go if you didn’t have a kid. They had all the thoughtful touches for kids (high chairs, crayons and place mat to draw on, kids menu) but without sacrificing the vibes.

I have both lived in South Philly , and worked in queen village restaurants for over 12 years. I have now visited redcrest multiple times and tried items ranging from the fried chicken sandwich staples to their healthier items & small bites . I'm convinced there's not a bad bite on the menu nor their extensive drink list . The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff is polite and attentive. Their playlists are also always great. They offer brunch daily which makes the place that much more of a hidden gem, as most places do not & I have watched several diners close in the city.In addition I have now had the pleasure of having a handful of interactions with the owner Adam. It is clear from all their menus that Adam has had years of knowledge and experience himself in the restaurant world and in a handful of cities. He is a family man who offers family night discounts every Tuesday which is definitely a big thing in the communities of both queen village and society hill. Each weeknight there is a good deal offered. What speaks volumes to me is his care for his staff . So not only are you getting a knock out meal & beverages you get the peace of knowing you are supporting a genuinely good person, which to me is more rare than a lot of people think. Whether you are a local or simply maybe hitting repo record and exploring south street , I highly recommend stopping in redcrest.

Seriously one of the best restaurants Philly has to offer. I was calling this place 5 stars when it was a hole-in-the-wall joint with 2 seats at the counter. Now it's got a gorgeous interior, a stocked bar with a fantastic selection of cocktails, and some of the nicest, funniest, most charismatic hosts I've ever had the pleasure of being waited by. Good taste, too, I've seen them playing Ghibli and Trigger movies on the TV by the bar on several occasionsYou may be a little turned off by the price, but I assure you it's worth every penny. Each sandwich is fantastic and comes with a dump truck load of fries. The wildest bonus is that they save and reheat well, too.I'd give this place six stars if I could. Never been happier to see a restaurant succeed. If you're debating on going, just do it, and tip your server through the roof too.
