We enjoyed our meal at Rex at the Royal. The Not So Crabby Cakes (vegan crab cakes) were a nice alternative to the traditional dish with heart of palms acting as the 'meaty' crab bits and it still had nice seasoning and evoked the spirit of a crab cake but was also similar to a vegetable croquette.
The Catfish and Cornbread Waffles were another highlight for me as well. Really tasty and fresh catfish with soft cornbread waffles.

My wife and I finally were able to have date night after 7 long months. The Rex was the perfect spot we went on a Friday night last week & the atmosphere (vibe) was right the playlist was very good also the drinks were top tier! We recommend the lemon drop martini. Our server Conrad was extremely professional and attentive. Most of the night he saw my wife and i enjoying our selves ,he would walk past from a far and I’ll give him a hand signal for more drinks lol , the food was outstanding we got the oyster and burger they both were out of bounds -Sal Choice-

I tried this spot out for the first time this past weekend with a handful of friends and we absolutely LOVED everything we tried! I would 100% recommend the Fried Chicken meal. The mac and cheese was stupendousssss. We tried to order the catfish with cornbread waffles but they sold out by 6:30pm - we will be back to try it! But genuinely the food experience we had from drinks to grits and everything else was delicious. I also enjoyed that the vibe was so laxed but also kind of fancy. very cute & vibey spot with the right people. Give them a try :) When I come back I'll update my review with phots.

Food was good but the service was 5 stars. Shout out to Kayla our server. Everyone from the host and manager to the busboys were on point. Heads up there is plenty of street parking and a parking lot 2 blocks away.
This is not going to be a food review. This is going to be a staff and service review. Excellent service very accommodating very pleasant. The entire staff was very intensive from our server to the management. I will go back there again. Such a great vibe we felt good going in we felt even better leaving thank you

The food that we did receive was ok greens dry no justice no flavor. Most of the stuff we wanted was not available. Never got our cornbread. And received a can of coke with a glass of ice. No bags available for our 3 take home trays smh we supported our ppl but they need work kitchen supplies help!
