We had a lovely meal. We started by meeting our party at the bar for a quiet drink before our reservation time, then we were brought to our table right on time. The food was great. It was actually quieter in the bar area than the restaurant, but we could still hear each other talk. Highly recommend.

Homemade pasta dishes were all good, particularly fettuccine funghi and short rib pappardelle. Fish of the day was quit good as well. Service is good and decent wine selection. It's quiet enough you can converse easily and don't hear other tables' conversations.

Very good food. Service was very good. Told them we had an upcoming theater show and we were served very quickly. Gave us a theater discount too that I didn't know about

This is a quaint little place around the corner from the Walnut Street Theater. The appetizer menu was great and I wanted to order everything on it but I did choose the grilled calamari which was very tasty. The Pollo Pavarotti was excellent - chicken breast, artichokes, cherry tomatoes and Kalamata olives in a light, clear sauce. The service was very attentive...and gracious. When my friend realized she ordered the wrong entrée, they immediately replaced it with what she wanted and all was well. A very nice dining experience.

This was our first time at Buca D'Oro Ristorante. My 3 sisters and I like to dine out prior to going to the Walnut Street Theatre. The menu was easy and the special explanations were mouth watering! We didn't have much time due to the schedule, but we were acknowledge that we needed to leave by a certain time to be on time for the show and we were accommodated. We all agreed that we will go there again.

We had a very nice family dinner on Saturday night. The food, drinks, wine, and service were all excellent!

The only downside is that to enter requires walking down a flight of stairs...and subsequently, up. Other than that, the food was great, the ambience and setup of the restaurant are wonderful and the service could not have been better. Will return.

If you’re looking for true, authentic Italian in Philadelphia, Buca D’Oro Ristorante is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, you feel transported straight to Italy—warm atmosphere, attentive service, and food that is simply unforgettable.

The pasta is clearly made fresh in-house, cooked perfectly al dente, and the sauces are rich, flavorful, and balanced exactly as they should be. Every dish is crafted with care and you can taste the authenticity in every bite. The seafood was outstanding—fresh, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented.

The staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home, offering thoughtful recommendations without being pushy. It’s rare to find a restaurant where every course, from antipasti to dessert, feels like a highlight, but Buca D’Oro nails it.

Whether you’re local or visiting Philadelphia, this is a must-visit spot. Easily one of the best Italian dining experiences I’ve ever had—authentic, cozy, and unforgettable. I’ll be back many times over.

Buca D'Oro is one of our favorite restaurants in Philly. It's Italian fare is "light" as opposed to the heavier Italian dishes that are commonplace throughout the city. From Appetizers to Entrees to Deserts, the dishes are delicious. Wines are also very good and reasonably priced.

The antipasti platter was disappointing but the Entrees and good service really balanced this out. The pasta was very good, wonderful flavor compositions. It's good for an easy dinner day.
